One Year Later - Thank You

Post » Mon Nov 12, 2012 2:58 am

We've been through ups and downs and all manner of debate and frustration, but I'm glad to be part of the Elser Scrolls community and a huge fan of the series. I wanted to throw a thank you out to everyone who worked on Skyrim, and give a little ray of sunshine to the folks wjo are probably tired of hearing most of the banter and criticism. Yes, I myself have several things I would have changed in the game, but without all the hard working people at BGS we wouldn't have had Skyrim in the first place. So thank you, good job, and know you have fans who love and enjoy each and every game you roll out the door, despite the little quirks. Thank you for going the extra mile to make a game as large and epic as you always do. And finally, thank you for continuing what is and always will be, in my opinion, the best series on the market.

What he said, only twice.

Thank you, Bethesda, for making such a good game!

For sure. I never thought any game would surpass my old favorite game in Red Dead Redemption. Skyrim certainty did for me.

Every game you've made I've loved more than the last Bethesda, you guys/gals are the best at making these epic games. Keep up the good work and thank you for all the work you've already done!

Skyrim at this time next year, after we've gotten all the DLC and meaningful patches we're going to get, is going to be so wildly different from Skyrim at this time last year that you'd think it was an MMO or something. compare that to Morrowind or Oblivion or Fallout 3, which were all pretty much identical from launch to end-of-life apart from a handful of bugfixes -- here we've gotten mechanical updates and graphical updates in PATCHES ALONE, to say nothing of what we've gotten in Dawnguard and Hearthfire and what we're getting in Dragonborn and beyond.

i have a [censored]ton of grievances i could voice about this game and design decisions made in its development but i could say the same thing about Morrowind or Oblivion or Fallout 3, and i've still put hundreds of hours into all of them. in Skyrim's case, though, there's considerably fewer than i was expecting, and that's something i feel should be applauded.

you've finally kind of done it, and i remain genuinely impressed. belated 8/10. keep it up.

Obviously no PS3 users posting on this thread...had the game a year and only played it for 2 hours...can't play it as it should without fear of glitching quests or crashing...

Yeah...happy birthday Skyrim....
