Online Bass Lessons

Post » Thu Aug 02, 2012 9:04 pm

A very good friend of mine gifted me his old Hofner Beatle-Bass, but I don't know how to play bass, yet. I do know how to play guitar to some degree, but I had to stop a year or two ago due to utter lack of free time, so I wouldn't be totally lost with a new stringed instrument. I'd feel kinda silly going to one-on-one lessons, and most of what I learned on guitar was online, I figured that'd be the best way to go. What are the best online bass lessons? I'm a little tempted to use Paul McCartney's bass lessons being that I have a cheaper version of the same bass, but I'd like to know my options.

One-to-one lessons are actually pretty good, a decent tutor won't make you feel silly and you'll likely pick up all sorts of stuff you wouldn't have thought to ask. Alternatively, you might want to give the folks over on http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f22/ a try: I haven't been there in a while but I seem to recall they're quite a friendly bunch.

I love expert village. They give you different people teaching you different things. I'm re-learning how to play guitar with them, and so far everything they have taught has been pretty accurate.
