I have a let's play on another website that's been hanging for months, and I'm inspired to continue it. Unfortunately, imageshack.us put on a limit of 500 photos, and I have 1000+ photos stocked in my disk drives.

Is there a storage website that allows me to store more images, or am I forced to limit what I upload?

your first mistake was to use imageshack

I use Picasa. I have 2072 images stored there atm, it automatically updates when a picture is changed added or deleted on the computer and works smoothly. Imageshack is OK for hosting a picture to link to but not always reliable (for me) and Photobucket is hard work.
