Only 3 power armors?

Post » Fri Jan 07, 2011 2:48 am

I love this game but there is way less power armors then in FO3. Its not a huge deal but i miss collecting all the armors. Anyone else want more armors or think its fine?

Nope, don't even use the stuff, less power armour the less i have to hear about it. (i only don't use it because of my character type.)

What other power armor could there possibly be?

Although, I wouldn't mind some Mid-Western BOS power armor...

There are 5 types of Power Armor so far w/o DLC so I think it's okay.

There's an example.

FO3 had variants of their armors. Im not saying i want 20 sets of armor i just enjoy collecting the different sets.

Well, I meant power armor that fit the setting. For example, I don't think seeing Enclave armor from Fallout 3 in the Mojave Desert would make a lot sense.

NCR Power Armor (which is really just juryrigged Brotherhood armor), the two Enclave armors, and the two (proper) Brotherhood armors.

the power armor in NV is laughable and not even a REAL upgrade. wow 5 more DT than advanced combat armor big [censored]in deal. it shouldent be a god item but when you got power armor IN ALLL THE OTHER FALLOUTS you noticed a differance. The power armor in NV is a joke and not really even worth it.

also thanks for another glitchy ass game bethesda , i can handle fallout 3 being glitched but when YOU KNOW there are problems with THE SAME ENGIN you are using you should fix the problems. I dont like paying for glitchy crashing games, this is why people pirate

I thought the Power Armour was ok but thought the Reinforced Combat Armour MkII was a little over powered. Then again I have taken Toughness twice.

I cast a vote for 'no'. There were way (waaay; waaaay) too many Power Armors in FO3.

I guess it comes down to taste, I've never liked the power armor, I've always thought my characters should look like they are scavenging to survive and not some god like entity, the armor should look like it's been stitched together from scavenged parts, I put power armor on Veronica and quickly removed it when I realized how out of place it looked, I prefer to concentrate my efforts into guns and sneak.

There's the classic t-51 used by the west coast Brotherhood, regular t-45, Enclave birdman armour, Enclave Tesla birdman (which looks so much better than it did in the early screenshots... realistically proportioned, yay!), and the Enclave's advanced power armour Mk II and the BOS Medic t-45 are at least in the game's files, if not directly available in-game, there's also the NCR t-45... what else is there?

That's 5 PA variants, 7 if you include unused stuff in the GECK.

Enclave Hellfire armour was developed on the east coast very recently, and Ashur's tribal PA and the Outcast PA are both t-45 variants. Plus, the Midwest BOS armour is basically Advanced PA Mk II, which is present like I said.

So yeah. Everything, which isn't a recolour or recently destroyed by the Lone Wanderer are already in NV.

That said, hopefully we'll get some new power armour in the form of some Circle of Steel gear in a DLC. :D

Interesting.

It seems so far everyone doesn't care to much for power armor from the poll.

Where's the power armor supporters? c'mon!

Not even missing it. ATM I've come Combat Armor I nicked from the Boomers and it's serving me quite well. Might be cool to get the powered armor at some point but I'm enjoying all the other types of armor choices.

I want power armor to stand up to the ^&*^#&%&*( death claws long enough to kill more than 1 at a time

Is repairing Power armor possible (Jury Rig perk) with other armors, or will I have to pay someone to fix it all the time??

It's not that people don't like the power armor, it's that they want it to be rare so you can feel accomplished when you find it. In the original Fallout there was one type of power armor and two ways to get it if I remember correctly.

I thought it was odd that the NCR, Caesar's Legion, Powder Gangers and Fiends have different types of armor and clothing whilst the Brotherhood only has one (not including Scribes and Recon). To counter my point, the above mentioned factions are large. You will see more of them in one place at any time so it's important to add a bit of variety. The Brotherhood on the other hand are small in comparison and you aren't expected to notice that they all look the same. I've noticed atleast 6 different types.

Go north, even power armor won't help much there, tactics are better against deathclaws, as you enter the quarry you will see rock ledges on the left, use them, not saying anymore due to it being a spoiler, I think folk rely to much on heavy armor when a little thinking and planning is all that's needed.

I am sure more will come with the DLC. fallout 3 had the power armor, the outcast power armor, the enclave armor, and the enclave tesla armor, and with a bunch of dlc, it also had the hellfire power armor and that power armor from anchorage.
