Which side? Simple question. I'm pretty split on this one. Part of me thinks my Orc (and orcs in general) are a noble, warrior culture that would identify with the Stormcloaks.. a fight for freedom, etc and so on.

But on the other hand, Orcs are considered the finest heavy infantry of imperial troops, or at least I thought I read that. And therefore, my Orc likely started out in the Imperial legions at one point or another.

I haven't come up with an RP reason for him to join either just yet... still working on Companions, then plan to tool around with smithing and do some stronghold quests, but sooner or later, the civil war is going to need to be settled.

Any concensus on where an Orc's loyalties would lie? Or could it go either way, depending on the player?

i think orcs support the legion. i have found orcish imperial npcs

I am not able to name an Orc NPC that have expressed support of the Stormcloaks, but there are a few Legion Veterans in Skyrim. It seems that joining the Imperial Legion is somewhat commonplace for the Orcs, but I don't think it is out of loyalty to the Empire itself. I think it is rather that the Imperial Legion welcomes them and even appreaciate them which must be a welcome respite for the Orcs, considering their history.

or they could care less about the war since their already secluded from govt and politics

A lot will say that Orcs will automatically side with the Empire, but I don't think that's true.
The orcs have a lot in common with the Stormcloaks, honor, strength, and tradition.
I could also see an Orc, who knew of the event, being angry with the Empire over their handling of the Breton's attempted genocide of their people at Nova Orsinium.
Nothing was done as a punishment, that we know of, and the Bretons got what they wanted only leaving the orcs to suffer.

My main character, whom is an orc....they all are, supports the Empire; however, my shaman supports the Stormcloaks.
You know your character best, so it's up to you to decide, though.

Orcs are talented warriors and the Legion welcomes talented warriors. So naturally the Orcs would go with the less racist fighting force that's more appreciative of them.
