Now i know crossbow can be extremely strong once you upgrade and choose the right perks. I know its best form is dwarven. But should the option of making Ebony, glass, orchish, and Dragonbone crossbow been allowed. I think it would have added to the game.
I don't think they would have fit, being introduced in the same way as the current ones (via Ancient Technology quests), but perhaps allowing the character to forge these new crossbows, after completing all the AT quests is a possibility. I just worry about the damage produced by these high end materials, since an upgraded Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow is already totally devastating (with perks). I guess they could be balanced by making them incredibly slow and heavy; it would be a lot more useful for people playing on higher difficulties.
I'm still just trying to get past the whole "off-center" aiming. Ugh. It would take quite a bit of changing to move around the stats and such, so I don't think it's likely.
When I have a dwarven enhanced crossbow that does 656 damage and ignores 50% armour I don't think I need a better one as I can kill any dragon from a sneak attack in 2 shots.
i think that the Dwarvan Crossbow should of been closer to the Dwarven bow, and then they shouldve added the other kinds, and made Dragonbone bow crossbow the same as how we have the current dwarvan
I'd welcome some more variety in crossbows. I enjoyed playing with crossbows as it fit my character more since he was an assassin. Crossbows seem more sneaky since they are more compact. I had to trade mine in for a bow though because it just didn't match up damage wise to the higher end bows.
