So I gave my robot buddy a Sentrybot head. Looks nice ...except he projects a red face light about a hundred feet away . It's like walking around with a six pairs of brake lights.

I don't mind it but different faceplate will mute the effect somewhat. The Ahab head armor for instance has a neat red eyes and nose hole effect but doesn't project out as far. Same with the humor and tragedy faceplates.

Haven't seen the humor/tragedy face plates. Are they random drops or mods? I'm on an XB1...

I don't think that's what they're actually called but they're head armor you can build for the Sentry Bot head. They're both fery small but one is a smiley face and the other a frowny face, both cut into a metal plate.
