So many updates, so many broken mods. I'm still on 1.5, though I haven't played in a while. I hate keeping up with mods that need to be updated, which is almost all of them! So close to 2.0... suppose I'll wait it out :P

Hopefully this means we'll get some Dawnguard news soon. I'd like to think that this lays the foundation.

Well, that was a disappointingly short beta period. Is your version of Skyrim now 1.7.7.0? That was the last beta patch, and I haven't downloaded anything additional for Skyrim yet today, which suggests that the public release is, again, basically just a public beta.

I'm willing to wait for Dawnguard. What I'd like is the dang Companions' maintenance script error fixed and my alt-tabbing working again.

Edit:

Never seen that, not even in the beta. However it looks like one of several mods which allow you to make dragonbone weapons. If you're using those, that's the likely cause. AFAIK 1.7 adds no new features, and Dawnguard doesn't add dragonbone weapons either.

Correction: Dawnguard does add dragonbone weapons. Still have yet to see this loading screen in my copy of the game however, so I still suspect mods in this instance.

They'll probably announce it after the official patch has been live for a few days B), then release it within the following week.

I bet you 3 e-shillings.

Dawnguard does in fact add Dragonbone weapons. That is not the texture they use, though.

1.7.7.0.6 is the version that just downloaded.

Running on a new game with the latest SKSE and no mods other than the offical HD texture pack and the Skyrim HD texture pack, I don't see any difference in fps on my system (2700k @ 4.5ghz, 6970 2gb) running at 1080p with Catalyst 12.7beta & 4x SSAA. Still dipping to 20fps in Riften forests.

Actually, Dawnguard does add dragonbane weapons. ;) But this is clearly from a mod.

AV, it seems like B are doing everything they can to sab your truly worthy 'CV'.

...but if you DO get your dreams, and you become "one of them", and you treat us like they are treating us now, I'll personally become a Daedra & hunt you down & make you SUFFER.

Be warned!

Well, not a good start. Tried to continue my game, got a crash when I was heading north along the road north east of Whiterun, roughly level with Whitewatch Tower (speculation: cell-boundary crossing, and the cell I tried to load contains a giant camp? I saw comments in the beta thread about crashes in the proximity of giant camps).

So, I went back to an early save, which was saved with only the following mods active, SKSE, USKP, SMIM, a personal mod that is empty and just serves to load a BSA containing UI tweaks, and Bashed Patch. This save was just outside Bleak Falls Barrow, having got the dragonstone. Crash as soon as I attempted to draw a weapon.

So, removed all mods (including SKSE), verified that plugins.txt just contained Update.esm. Started from same save point. CTD when attempting to draw a weapon.

I'm going to have to start a completely new game again, aren't I? Argh.

UPDATE: It looks like it a pure mesh/texture replacer mod that may be the culprit. I remembered I'd got some stuff packed into a collection of BSAs and loaded via skyrim.ini. Removing these allows me to draw weapons. Unfortunately, "some stuff" is pretty much what's in STEP, aggregated and rendered down to BSAs. Looks like I have a happy fun time eliminating stuff ...

Yea it just updated mine without me noticing. It's one of the things I don't like about Steam, how hard can it be to give me a message box asking if I want to download the latest patch lol.

I can draw weapons no problem. On both a REALLY old save (Started during like 1.1 or 1.2), and on a fresh console in from the main menu. Hmmm...

I really hope the CK is updated today. Or AT LEAST tomorrow. :(

This scares me - the last update caused me a month's worth of work to fix. Hopefully this one will be uneventful, but I am nervous.
At least i learned to make copius backups!!

Well other than the dialogue fix (only for esp's still D:) it didn't seem to really change anything on PC. So hopefully we are good to go. I'm waiting for a new CK, and the okay from someone else. Too many times I've been burned by 'going ahead full blast'.

Anybody else getting stuff like this in their papyrus logs? Pretty sure I've never seen it before.

Confirmed. I just tried to launch Skyrim for the first time after the beta went to public release...no additional files were downloaded. What we got in the beta is identical to the public 1.7 patch.

Jesus, what's the point of having a beta when they don't fix the bugs the beta introduces? Disappointing, Bethesda.

I'm not aware of any this time around.

And I think it's to make sure that it doesn't cause a catastrophic system failure. I didn't hear any complaints about the beta (at least that it BROKE anything new). I donno. The beta's do kind of feel half done. Just there to please us and not really used to their full potential.

...but if you DO get your dreams, and you become "one of them", and you treat us like they are treating us now, I'll personally become a Daedra & hunt you down & make you SUFFER.

Don't worry! I'm hoping that if anything hiring someone so involved in the community will improve their outlook, and that I can get in there and improve it from that end. I've experienced all the shortstops and 'talk to the hands' that they've given the community over the years, and I hope to help prevent future ones if when I'm hired there!
