Out of Character Ideas? Here are some recommendations

Post » Wed Sep 05, 2012 11:33 am

I posted this originally here:

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1408834-enchanting-normal-clothing-i-just-realized-this/

but I decided to make a topic for it. For people who are out of class ideas, here are some. You can try these "hyrbrid" classes.

NOTE: these are not battle tested. They are just recommendations:

* Archer/Mage who uses Illusion and Conjuration magic.
* A Thief character who wears all cloth (no light or heavy armor) but uses Illusion (if you get caught stealing Fear them or Calm them). Alteration for Muffle, Invisibility, and armor spells (Oakflesh, etc).
* A Heavy armored, two-hand wielding knight who uses destruction and conjuration.
* A cleric type character. Light armor, or no armor, with Restoration (turning undead and healing) and alteration for light (candelight, etc) and armor spells.
* Thief who uses poisons but can also summon elementals/undead. Sneaking, Lockpicking, Pickpocketing, Alchemy, Conjuration.
* A paladin type character: Light Armor OR Heavy armor. One hand weapon, blocking, restoration, archery, alteration or enchanting.
* An archer who has contracted sanguine vampiris to become a vampire. Archery, sneak, lockpicking. Sneak and lockpicking for breaking into homes at night to svck blood. Perhaps Conjuration OR Illusion AND Alchemy OR Enchanting.
* A "peasant", who is secrety a werewolf. Archery, one hand, light armor, or even cloth with Alteration.
* Thief who picpockets sleeping victims and poisions them (pickpocketing tree). Who sneaks around, kills guards, and Conjures them back as the Undead.

The Three Archetypes and the 6 skills per Archetype:

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Skills_(Skyrim)

Write YOUR character's story. You don't need to post it here. It can just be something for you to write for yourself and your own character creation. Just half a page, or more, for YOUR character. than pick 3-6 skills which you think match your character. And then make your character with your character's origin story in mind.

some of this builds, like the sneakarcher build, are actually very typical... not really as a vampire, but that does not change the gameplay so much anyways.

edit: just realized... i had exactly the mage archer build from your list. i had an archer, that summoned daedra to protect him and used the bound bow for dmg. i also used illusion, if enemies got too close or if i did not want to fight.

I was just thinking up ideas. Brainstorming.

Being a vampire, the player can decide to be anywhere from being at Stage 1 to Stage 4. A Thief/Archer who is at Stage 4 will have people react differently to them if they get caught. Say the player who is the sneaker/archer gets caught stealing at Stage 1. No biggie; At Stage 4 (no feeding for a few days) the Sneaker/Archer gets caught stealing. The reaction will be very different. Because at Stage 4, townspeople react violently to someone who is a Stage 4 Vampire.

Plus, sneaking is boosted as a vampire regardless of the Stage.

I haven't started these yet but I have two ideas of my own.
Argonian hunter. Main skill is archery. Lives off of the land and never enters the big cities.
Restoration monk. Uses restoration and unarmed. Uses companions help for tougher dungeons/caves.

Those both sound great! Whatever is fun for you. :)

I just discover this build myself, and I can say I love it.

Class : Sailor
Race :
- Redguard (Recommended)
- Nords
- Imperial
Skills :
- One-Handed (Dual-wield)
- Archery
- Alchemy
- Sneak
- Smithing/Enchanting/Not at all

Gears :
- Scimitar (Dual-wield)
- Ragged Trousers
- Bow & Arrows

For this build, you'll need NO armor rating at all. Not even Altertion!
You'll only increase your Health rating through Alchemy (Fortify Health Potions).
The main core in this build is offense. "Kill your enemy before they even draw their weapon."
Remember, no Light Armor, no Heavy Armor, and no Alteration.
Use Alchemy to fortify One-Handed potions too.
You can use Smithing to increace your weapons damage, or Enchanting to Fority Health/Enchanted Weapon/other enchanment. Or you not use them at all.

Sorry I copy-paste this post from my post in another thread :P
But I can asure you, this build is challanging.

I'm glad you were able to find a build that you can enjoy, and is challenging.

What do you mean by "Smithing/Enchanting/Not at all". Does this mean Smithing or Enchanting or neither?

I've never tried this build but it is pretty unique and i think pretty fun.

Be an argonian, forget the helgan part, once out of there and near a river, your real story begins. make your own back story, play normaly but here's the catch. You can't be out of the water for more then 5 minutes real time. you can make spells like... bouncy or something that could, for role playing instances, increase your duration time out of the water. just a thought that i had before. pretty cool right?

Bump it up to an hour or so. There is no way to fight through any of the major dungeons in 5 minutes. Not only does combat take time but improving skills such as Enchanting, Smithing, and Alchemy take time as well.

Other than that, it would be a very interesting way to play.

Yup. To make things more challenging is to not to use Smithing or Enchanting at all.
But if your Alchemy too low, you can use Smithing or Enchanting helps.
