Oversleeping

Anyone else get mad when they oversleep?

I got a weird alarm clock you need to set every time you want it to go off.

And I forgot to set last night and woke up at noon, and I am PISSED OFF.

I hate over sleeping, I'm really a night person, but I hate wasting so much of a day.

Also I left my tv on, last night and inwas still in my "just woken up" haze too lazy to change the channel so o watched Jerry Springer, o feel like I lost brain cells.

I only oversleep if I went to bed at like 4 am. And then it's justified, since I usually don't have anything planned for that day anyway.

Yeah, I get "made" when I oversleep too...

Anyway, I use my phone alarm, and you can customize it so that it goes off only on weekdays, or certain days of the week, and at different times every day if desired. Check and see if your phone has similar features.

I'm a real day person so I rarely oversleep anyway. I hate wasting the day.

I usually miss the buss and thus the first class of school when I oversleep. Not too mad about it.

Unless it make me late for work, I don't get mad at all.

I want to say "I dream about oversleeping", but that doesn't quite work, does it...?

I can't remember the last time I overslept. I have five alarms that go off in my house to keep me from oversleeping: one is set for 4am, another at 5:00, the third 5:30, then again at 5:45, and the last one set for 6:45, at which time I am heading off to work. Overkill? You betcha, but it's kept me from oversleeping for over ten years now.

I often dream that I've woken up, got ready and gone to lectures. Before later waking up to find I've overslept. :(

I hate oversleeping. Well, by that I mean 12pm. I really am a night person and never go to sleep before midnight, but this often results in me sleeping in.
I guess we can't be awake all the time, which would be nice, but I do feel like I'm kinda' wasting my time when I'm laying there relaxing.

I am the self proclaimed King of Oversleeping. 12+ hours on weekends/days off? Yeah. That's normal. The problem is I'm a night person, though. So I get active at night, and when I finally go to bed, it's 1,2,3 AM. Then I sleep until about 12-3 PM. Lately I've been going to bed at around 11, and waking up between 9-12. ...Which really isn't much better. At all. Okay, it's no better. But at least I'm awake earlier in the day.

I used to be an oversleeper like you. Not gonna do it, not gonna do it, not gonna do it...

But yeah, aside from the last few days, I'd oversleep every chance I'd get. Doesn't really piss me off. Even when it's unplanned. I've missed at least a dozen classes due to oversleeping, but none ever really affected. Probably helps that I never missed anything important.

I have to get up early so I'm not late for work. I can't afford to oversleep.

I've recently got into this habit of dreaming that I've woken up: I can tell something's not quite right, but often don't realise I'm still dreaming (when I do, I wake up instantly: I mean properly!)

I'm another one who often comes to life after midnight and it's certainly not unusual for me to end up not going to bed until well after dawn. Kind of svcks when I get accused of being lazy if I'm in bed at noon, even though I may have had less than three hours sleep. No point trying to go to bed before that, I'll just lie there tossing and turning for hours...

I hate the idea of sleeping too long. As much as I love being in bed I don't like the idea of wasting my life asleep and therefore being unaware of my existence.

If you sleep 8 hours a night, that means you are wasting 1/3 of your life not doing anything. Why would you want to sleep any longer than that. Plenty of time for sleep when you're dead, right?

I'd rather be up and awake and not really doing anything that asleep and doing less than nothing.

As somebody with chronic insomnia, I think I take issue with it being a waste: being too tired to do anything useful for years on end is a waste...

Sometimes I don't even realise that I had actually pressed the alarm off button.

I've pushed my bed away from my alarm clock so that I have to wake up to turn it off. This way I at least have to get out of bed.

l learned that lesson a looong time ago. Far too many mornings where I overslept because of this, and missed the bus and had to get mom or dad to drive me to school..or worse had to ride my bicycle there...which wasn't exactly around the corner. I guess that also helped me to learn not to keep the alarm clock next to the bed.
