In the quest where you confrong Gulum-Ei, you have the option to say you're keeping the bill of sale for yourself. He responds by telling you to consider it a gift. This implies that it's for you. There's no option to give it to the thieve's guild so I figured this meant that I now owned the estate. However, it's still filled with hostile mercenaries and faringoth is still hiding in the bedroom. Doesn't really seem like I really own the place.

Am I missing something? Is this something Bethesda had planned to flesh out but didn't finish? This feels like an incomplete quest to own Goldenglow to me.

Any ideas?

You have possession of the deed, but the mercenaries don't recognise you as owner.

I have no idea. It would be great to own your own little company. When I got that deed it made me wish you could have more deeds, or that you should be able to forge your own.

Well, I guess I'll have to "convince" them that they're no longer welcome. If only I could hire a maid to clean up the mess I'm going to make.
