Has anyone actually tried or been able to beat EVERY SINGLE quest in Skyrim without killing a single creature or NPC?

Literally impossible, unless you don't count having your followers or summoned minions do the job for you. Even then, you're looking at quite some time just getting out of Helgen if you rely entirely on Ralof or Hadvar to kill everything.

The Elder Scrolls was never really designed around pacifistic ways.

Couldn't you get your companion to do that, or bring someone along and frenzy them?

As long as you got no blood on your hands, Lydia could be Genghis Khan for all I care!

Try using a Illusionist-Conjurer character, you won't directly kill anyone but your Mayhem+2x Dremora Lords will...

Indirect murder still murder, unless if you mean playing the whole game without killing by yourself then it is 100% viable

Main skill:
Illusion
Conjuration
Smithing
Enchanting

Craft your follower strong gear and just illusion to handle most of the killing

That's even more evil.

There are also quests that require you to kill someone, so completing every quest without killing anyone is impossible.

You would have to set realistic limitations on your pacifism due to the nature of the game. The pacifist playthru I am planning is to complete the MQ and as many side quests as possible without killing man, mer or animal. Creatures, draugr, and automatons will be all fair game.

If the enemies actually yielded, then i would make a character that goes through the game without killing anyone unless absolutely necessary and id let them all live if they yield. But since bethesda was too lazy to do it then no its impossible.

A good way to make this system is when a guy yields on the ground, you can then activate them to open their inventory and take whatever you want. When they get up they should run to the nearest load screen door and dissapear forever. Thats what they should have done for yielding, instead of them just getting back up and attacking again.

I don't know about beating quests and such. But there have been others who have done this style and made videos of it on Youtube. The question of going the route of not killing has also been asked many times.
But yeah, search youtube and you'll find them.

Hmm...

Civil War quest? Don't you have to personally execute the leader? Perhaps not.

No, you don't.

Getting out of Helgen just by hiding and letting Ralof/Hadvar do the job is easy and doesn't take much longer.

But since most of the questline require the deaths of certain NPCs (or dragons...), I find it hard to do a true pacifist. Someone who lets followers and summons kill for him/her, on the other hand, should be viable. I have an idea for a pacifist Orc, who only uses Illusion, Speech and Restoration - and cares much about her looks and loves pretty clothes. Probably won't play her for a few months, though (would love to get a PC first so I can use mods for followers and pretty clothes). So many ideas, so little time... :(

I wish you could still knock NPCs out with hand to hand...it would make this a lot easier and more fun. :ermm:

No, someone else steps in if you decline.

Usung Illusion and sneak this is very viable for the game. I got through lots of quests and something like 20 levels before I got stuck in a fight with Mercer Frey.

Yes the yielding of an npc is a total waste of code, even after yielding 10 times a bandit will still attempt to defeat you!?

Yeah i know, but how is that even possible... You are gonna miss so much in the game, you will only rely on followers? thats gonna take like forever unless you play on the lowest difficulty... And how will you even get through DG with that idea? :P im not judging anyone, its the idea itself that sounds stupid to me. :)

Well, get some uber followers, and spam illusion and conjuration if you want indirect killing. :D If not, there's probably no way you can complete ALL the quests without killing anything.

I don't think it's possible to have a TRUE pacifist. Having someone do your killing for you is not pacifism. That would be like Gandhi hiring the Khmer Rouge to take care of his problems. However, allow true yields and knockouts, and institute hand-to-hand and staff/club fighting and you're open to a bunch of monk-type badass characters who don't kill a thing.

I would LOVE to play one, but sadly can't. :(
