Being attacked without willing to attack yourself requires all the defences you can get: That means armor of 567 (still the max?), all points in Health and enchant some gear with fortify Health if you can. Dragonhide is also useful but not necesarily once you've pacified the battle field or am planning to sneak through yourself. Your only weakness will be physical damage, especially on Master difficulty, and that is why you need to get your defences as high as possible. Dawnguard comes with the possibility of a ring that adds another +100 to your Health but that one is only accessable by joining the vampires instead of the Dawnguard themself and that questline involves killing, something that is not possible in this build. Choose Dawnguard and you're save (up to the end boss).
To make it more clear here: Pacifism is only possible up to a certain point. 100% pure Pacifism isn't possible in Skyrim without bending the rules a little. And with bending I mean: exclude end bosses from not killing. It's up to you if you in these cases want to cheat your way through and I admit; sometimes I did indeed, without liking it.
First way to 'kill' the enemy without having a 'registered kill' is by using the Wabbajack. Save before trying and if the enemy lies dead before you with a single shot from the Wabbajack you will see that the dead of this enemy is not registered in your journal.
Second way to kill without killing is by using a follower. Normally what they kill will be registered as that you have killed it. But not if you Pacify the battlefield first, disband your follower, than Rally the enemy and once your disbanned follower noticed something is trying to attack him/her, he/she will turn around and attack the enemies for you, without having the kill registered as if you killed them. You can give them a summoner staff first to speed things up, especially if the summon a Daedra.
Enchant their gear, smith their weapons and off they go.

And I know, this is not pure pacifism. If that was possible in the game, I would certaintly do it.
So far, I managed to do all quests of Skyrim and Dawnguard without killing myself up to a certain point with the exception of three characters, who needed to die for the storyline: Alduin, Harkon and the Forgemaster. Registered as: 1 animal, 1 undead and 1 automaton.
JOINING THE DARK BROTHERHOOD
No, you can not join them without having to kill yourself. Even with my Wabbajack and Disbanded Follower trick you can only lower the amount of registered kills. Some enemies are simply written in their software to be only killed by you. The best you can do is killing Lurbuk before the quest to do so will be asked. Lurbuk can be killed by disbanned followers or the bar keeper if you must. That way you can avoid killing Ennodius Papius, a person designed only to be killable by the dragonborn him/herself.
But eventually you will run into Breaching Security, a quest that involves killing Gaius Maro, the son of Commander Maro himself and there is no way to let him die without killing him yourself. And that's why a Pacifist can not join the Dark Brotherhood clang.
If one of you guys do know a way of how to do it, please let me know.
DESTROYING THE DARK BROTHERHOOD
Yes, that is possible without having 1 kill registered. I don't like to kill npc's because I am a peacefull gamer most of the time, but I do like the stuff the Dark Brotherhood has to offer, as I like to collect everything I can in Skyrim. But eventually I decided to get rid of the brotherhood because it fits my character more.
So how did I do it? Let Astrid kill the three unfortunate souls in the Abondend Shack and make yourself invisible until she calms down. Than Wabbajack her to death. For destoying the rest of the clang using the same technique: Rally, than Wabbajack the last man standing.
And that's how it is done. The big benefit of playing a Pacifist is that you have much more perks to spend than when you need to 'waste' them on weapons.
TRAINING YOUR PACIFIST
I used weapons once: training Archery, One-Handed, Two-Handed and Destruction Magic on a random spawn dragon somewhere in the field. Attack them, use Heal Other on the dragon when his health is low and attack again. After you're finished, sneak away while being invisible. No need to spend perks in Sneak as these two spells to more than enough for you.
If anyone has any more tips to improve this character, please share. I personally had and am still having a lot of fun with him. In fact, he's my favorite.
