True bliss in my opinion.

Otherwise, we might just wipe ourselves out as far as I see it:

Indeed. I'm sure Ghandi don't need gold plated sandals:

I can't fathom how you managed to watch the whole 48 minutes of it all in 23 minutes.

I didn't. I watched maybe 15 minutes. Enough to tell me that the video obviously has a political slant to it and/or its point is such that it will cause lots of conflict here on these forums due to its assumptions and outlook. Neither of which is generally tolerated by the mods for very long.

It's just a friendly reminder of the real meaning in life. I'd hate for a fellow forum poster to prejudge a thread.

Oh please. I watched enough of the long video to form a decent opinion of its premise. Plus, it's totally political. I don't mean that I disagree with the idea that the video is purveying, mind, but it is very much a political football and thus the mods will lock the thread.

The main video is very much anti-capitalist, goes against basic understanding of human psychology and behavior, etc. If that's not considered political, I don't know what is. :P

I disagree with the strangling of free speech in general. Be it from terrorists or some form of strange EULA.

Ah, Jacque. I love listening to him. You can learn a lot about learning from him. I love his story about how he questioned basic aerodynamics just out of curiosity.
I've wached countless videos about him and his ideas, and I don't have time for another one at the moment. Overall, I really like him.

I disagree with the idea too, but I accept that if I want to use this forum, I have to deal with some rules that I may disagree with. This is not your forum and it doesn't follow your rules. There are plenty of forums where you can say and do pretty much whatever you want. This is not one of them, (un)fortunately.

That's nice. Not your forum, not your values, not your rules. There are plenty of forums where you can say and do pretty much whatever you want. This is not one of them, (un)fortunately.

As I said.

You said "free speech". That doesn't apply in a privately owned medium.

It should. Unless you want to deal with the issue of money > democracy.

BTW. Just watch the video and don't get hung up on anol retentiveness.

It's a privilege and a choice for you to post on a private forum. Not a right.

It's the same as doing things on private property. You follow the owners rules, or else. Unless you'd like for strangers to walk up to your house and spray paint their 2012 presidential candidate of choice without your consent, I'd drop the free speech flag.

Read my edit.

But yeah, it's a privilege for said company to receive my money as well.

That's the problem.

Money is superfluous when void of power.

It's not about money, democracy or "anol retentiveness", it's about respecting someone else's house rules. I may not agree with them all, but I agree less with taking the opinion "I'll do as I please".

If you were paying them to post here, maybe it would be different. If you're going to boycott their goods because they won't let you post whatever you want, you're not going to be buying many goods.

Also congratulations on somehow making the thread more political than it started. You're just digging a hole.

I don't remember paying to be on this forum. And, yes, money only has power because we apply power to it. But, again, this is not your forum. You don't pay for it, host it, or do anything aside from use it. Political topics are discouraged for a reason here. And with that, I'm out of this thread.

I lied about leaving just yet. :P

The point of this thread is what? To discuss a video that clearly has an anti-capitalist point of view, which clearly falls under politics. Ipso facto, capitalists will not agree with the video, and then the ball really gets rolling and the thread gets locked because people get angry because http://xkcd.com/386/.

No, just about people taking the law in their own hands. I do believe in a peaceful transition. Also. 'Eventually' was way off. I'm not speaking english natively =P
