I'm having issues progessing through the quest Blood on the Ice due to the fact that one of the characters, Viola, is dead somewhere in the wilds of Skyrim. Keep in mind, this character is basically started from when Skyrim first came out and I've done virtually everything except for this mission. I decided to buy the house in Windhelm and upon entering it I found blood on the floor and I started searching the house which led to me receiving the quest Blood on the Ice. I get all the way to finding the "Strange Amulet", selling it to Calixto and then being stuck because I can no longer progress without talking to Viola, who, like I said, is dead somewhere in Skyrim.

I read on UESP that the 1.5 patch was supposed to allow quest progression regardless if Viola is dead.

Has anyone else had this problem?
