Patch 1.02 Did Not Fix Any Issues

Post » Tue Dec 14, 2010 2:03 am

I was pretty pleased to see a list of things this patch was "supposed" to fix but whats very disappointing is they failed to actually do what was stated. It basicly added small features to broken gameplay and dident do what the patch was intended to do. My companions show up with the force relocation using the vault 22 elevator trick but dont move or follow. I can get them to fast travel with me but yet again, they dont move or follow. Game still constantly freezes. Quests still glitch if I get lucky to even make it that far before another freeze. Some say the patch works for some but not for all and I dont believe that for a min. If thats the case then why issue a public fix that should fix everyones general issues with the game? Thiers really no logic behind some of the posters statements. This game was one of the most anticipated games and not quite sure why it was released with such poor quality, and we all know this isn't the first and defiantly wont be the last time we see this kind of quality and I hope Im proved wrong. Some say its the havok engine but Ive never seen any issue with other games ran on havok. Im a huge fan of Bethesda and have been very faithful but its wearing very thin with quality like we have seen and still continuing to see even in Oblivion, and Fallout 3 and now New Vegas. Please Please Please bring a fully functional patch or even a partial functional patch at this point and you will see alot of happier people who paid $60+ for a game riddled with game breaking glitches. I dident mean to sound harsh or be an A-Hole about anything but wanted to get across the overall feeling everyone is experiencing right now including myself. I dont believe I stepped over any boundries that can be proven otherwise. Bethesda, PLEASE bring us a final solution and not a temp fix please!

1. Freezes aren't going to be fixed in the forseeable future. You can try cleaning your Disc and system cache and don't let your savefiles get too big to minimize them.
2. A patch won't fix every last issue with a game. Ever.
3. A bug that has already hapenned usually stays this way. A patch normally doesn't fix issues retroactivly
4. Which quests do you have issues with?

Yep, Bethesda can't fix the freezing/crashing issues but instead of telling us They can't their just going to sit around and let us think they can. Some how they fixed the majority of Fo3 and Oblivion's issues but they can't seem to do it for NV I'd assume they would have tried to fix that first instead of all these other random bugs considering it is the most complained about issue. Fo3 is at version 1.61 and it plays fine for me even with DLC so... Maybe wait a year and this damn game will be playable I hope so because if not I'm loosing my chance to at least get half what I payed for this broken product... :brokencomputer:

Probably best for the time being to not play NV if it crashes for you, its only going to come back in bite you in your butt later.

Hey there.

Perfectly good, already-open thread for giving feedback on the success (or lack thereof) of the latest patch, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1147839-patch-102-does-it-even-work/. We try to avoid having more than topic talking about the same exact thing, so please do feel free to continue this conversation over there.

Thanks!
