I have just found the 1.21 patch which is supposed to help compatibility with Windows 7, Ndvidia GPu′s and Widescreen support, all of this sounds great for replaying the game after all these years. I happen to have my original disc so Im ready to go, but I dont know if this game still has the cd check..one of the reasons that a 10 year old gamedisc has lasted so long is that I took care of it, but having to run arround with my laptop might change that in a hurry.....so anybody has any news about it?

I'm not sure I understand your question here. Install the game from the CD and run the patch exe to update... That should work, right? Since the 1.21 patch is a W7/Vista compatibility fix, just install to default directory on your OS when prompted by InstallShield, then run the patch exe.

Unless your suggesting that ancient DRM may be incompatible with modern OS programs?

After you install the patch you don't need to have the CD in the DVD/CD - ROM
