The latest patch or 2 that were released in November will not download from Steam. Also I keep un and reinstalling because when I try to verify game integrity it always says 1 file cant be found. Ive erased the New vegas folder, reinstalled and still there was a problem with 1 file. Any help anyone?

Is your game executable (FalloutNV.exe) showing version 1.2.0.285? That's the latest.

The file that won't verify is likely the InstallScript.vdf and it doesn't matter. There's apparently a log somewhere of the verify results, but I'm not sure where.

If only one file is reporting as a problem, I wouldn't worry about it. If it bothers you, delete the InstallScript.vdf and then run the verify again and it should replace it with a new one.

Last patch was a real mixed bag. Godsend for most nVidia users, but ranging from no benefit at all to actual harm for ATi users.

That said, if you were using the D3D9.dll fix, you remembered to remove it from the Fallout New Vegas directory so it wouldn't load anymore, right?

I thought the patch worked very well. added some usable features and improved the frame rate in Nellis, ati 5770 and triple core amd cpu. the change log is more than just graphic optimization.

Well, I guess some ATi users got a benefit then. I'd read a lot of reports from ATi users who lost performance and complaints that the d3d9.dll fix no longer worked with the new version.

Some bug fixes were included, and one new feature. The upcoming patch should be a lot better.

I'm sticking with V1.0 until that comprehensive patch comes along. :D

*raises hand*

Yup. I was getting 60 FPS mostly solid all the time with the dll pre-patch. After the patch I get 45 FPS in places I got 55-60 before. The dll changes noting now.

The odd thing is it's smoother with the lower FPS now that it was before with similar FPS. If it hit's the high 20-low 30's (Transitions.) it's not jarring like before.
