Patios not connecting...

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 11:17 am

All the add-on on my house have porches they're all connected but there's still a piece of railing blocking the way around. is there a fix?

I had the same thing with the house over looking solitude. and i also noticed that the upstairs wall on the north wing had texture issues around the doorway. They kept wobbling all the time.

The porches not connecting seems to happen when you purchase the connecting wings in a certain order, if it isn't random. My advice is to have a backup save from before you started building the wings, and reload if there's a glitched railing and try again.

I had same issue. Build stuff for the exterior and the partition disappears. I built everything at once on all three sections so I don’t know if just a table is enough. Kickin’ back with a cold one at Lakeview at sunset is righteous.

You build them in a logical order, west, north, east or east, north west, any other way you take your risks.

I saw the same thing when I built the Bedroom, then Storage Room, then Armory. After reloading, I built the Storage Room first, then the Armory and Bedroom. Or was it Bedroom then Armory? I dunno. Either way, no problem the second time.

You would have had no problem the first time.

I started to build East, North, and saw the railing blocking. Reloaded, rebuilt North, no blockage now. Built West, no blockage anywhere.

My guess now: Random bad luck glitch in any order, so just check and reload as needed.

You build two it is normal for one combination to have the rail there, provided you are building in a logical order, the rail will vanish when you do the third patio.

Yes, unfortunetly you must have all 3 belconies for it to work, which really ruins the fun of customizing, I was really hoping to have an armory/storage/enchanting but because of the stupid rails I was forced to go armory/storage/bedroom instead

I know you can still have an enchanting table in the main hall but I was hoping to have my own dedicated enchanting room to put all my mage stuff in v_v

Nope, in my above case, reloading to rebuild a wing made the rail between the two disappear the second time around. I went on to build the third patio with no further issue (as we'd expect from aussie's advice). But, I could have stopped at the two then and it would have been OK.

The dividing rail will vanish when you build the third wing, whether it was a patio or not, it is just waiting to see what you are building before giving you the final configuration. You build the side wings then the north or north and then the sides it seems it does not always get rid of the dividing fence. Which is a pity because most know what they want the north wing to be, but cannot make up their minds what the west and especially the east wing will be, so will probably build a bit erratically rather than how QA seems to have tested it.

I built bedroom, storage room, and kitchen, no rail. It seems totally random to me.

Hmm, I tried that, I wasn't able to get it to work, reloaded my save several times, inside and outside the house, even tried reloading far away in solitude, the rail was still there for me when I got back...

And what order did you actually build the wings in? Have you built the third wing yet? Reloading a save after you already have the dividing rail is not going to change anything.

Built the 2 patios first then the enchanting tower, the rail never dissapeared through any of those steps, I pretty much gave up at this point, I'm tired of starting over for 3 days straight, I actually want to play now v_v

You built the east patio first? Otherwise no it would not work.

Yes, east, north, then west tower. I'm sorry I don't know what to say, I tried everything here its just not working... I see a few people in this thread saying they got it, but I have a hard time believing that through my experences, I think people are just trolling v_v

I love this set up, I just really dislike the storage room. Wish I could have the full balcony with trophy room :(

Well following the logic of Bethesda, if that did not work start with the Enchanting Tower, then the North and East wings. Maybe it is some particular thing about the Enchanting Tower that is preventing the railing being moved. I tested it the other way around with the library and had no trouble doing it either way.

In my Windsted Manor this happend too, I built my bedroom on the west wing last,
so.. Storage --> Bedroom = Broken in Windsted.

Unfourtinate, just like my Ysolda dissapearing after becomming a vampire and my adopted girl dissapearing, please.. fix the bugs, stop rapid releasing new DLC's, put your entire team on the bug fixes, fix the ps3 crap so everyone else can play too, and then you can put your entire team on the 3rd dlc instead of half of it working on bug fixes and the other half working on a new dlc causing even more bugs.
