[Idea] Paying SmithingEnchanting Trainers to ImproveEnchant

Post » Thu May 24, 2012 7:32 am

Is anyone thinking about something like this? I mean, if I play primarily under say the Thief stone, how can I get my weapons and gear in decent shape, or have some decent enchanted gloves, with, say, Fortify Unarmed?

Why can't I pay people to improve / enchant it? Of course, trainers would scale - pay more gold for better gear, some wouldn't have Arcane Smithing, some wouldn't have Ebony Smithing, some wouldn't have Corprus Enchanter or whatever it is, and when asked to do x 'this trainer cannot improve this item' could go in the log if no dialogue is available.

Of course I understand if NPC's don't have perks or if it would require workarounds, just an idea.

I hope so. I don't want to be forced into 2 perk trees which make no RP sense.

I really miss those. It was my #1 money sink in Morrowind and Oblivion.

However, I have no idea how to do this. I don't think we will see it anytime soon. :(

I hope someone is working on this too. My warrior wants to concentrate on killing things, not smithing new swords and armour.

I am sure it would be a worthwhile effort, since many people have expressed an interest in it. I myself would love to have someone to pay to enchant my axe for me :)

Yeah i was rather ticked when i read that the college offers enchanting to make money and then when i asked the guy at the college that was over enchanting he told me to do it myself.

The system should be based on the skill level of the smith/enchanter. ie some will be better skilled than others. Most city smiths should only be proficient up to steel and leather armours. Orc strong holds should be proficient up to orcish and leather. Not sure who would smith dwemer, ebony and daedric. Elven and glass could be smithed by a new smith in the Thalmor embassy.

Court wizzards and the guy at the college could offer enchanting services. Some could just be more proficient and some enchanting than others, and the guy at the college could be a true master. of course to get high end enchantments it should cost A LOT of money.

Me: I need you to enchant this for me.
Old Man: I think you'll manage.
Me: No... I'm training in Destruction, Conjuration, and Alchemy. I don't have time to enchant my equipment.
Old Man: =_= Zzzzz....

I theorize that the old curmudgeon doesn't know how to enchant anything and the only reason the college keeps him around is because they feel sorry for him.

Indeed, lazy bastage

But I would also be interested in this kind of mod as well.. I keep jacking up my play throughs because I want to have all the nice things... and that really jacks with the level scaling... I HATE that smithing alchemy and enchanting are all tied to overall level.. and I can't find anything in the CS to unlink them

w00t this is my 666th post on these forums :P

I'm thinking that most city smiths would have the basic Steel Smithing, Eorlund Grey Mane as the master level trainer would have the entire tree maxed, maybe excepting Daedric, the smiths in the Orc strongholds will have Ebony smithing techniques, and the Light Armour path could be done by certain light armour trainers (like Nazir or Grelka).

Mak10z, there are mods that can make these crafting skills not linked to levelling. I am using one now...but unfortunately it uses Script Dragon and the new patch f'd that over....and it hasn't been updated yet. Been going through Skyrim withdrawl most of this week :(
