Damn just missed getting into the last thread.

expect feburary, its the beginning of their fiscal year and releasing dragonborn on pc AND ps3 will give them a nice little pushoff to start off their fiscal year.

Maybe the PS3 version would contribute a bit to the new financial year takings, you only need look at what percentage of PC players have done anything in the steam achievements to think the smallest group of Skyrim players, are not really that interested in DLC.

Not sure if Steam achievements are a reliable way of judging what PC players have done in Skyrim, I refuse to believe that 7.8% of all Steam players were impatient enough to quit before finishing Unbound.

I can't say I feel all that bad for them at this point. They put themselves in this situation, and it's not like it's a difficult problem to solve. All they need to do is answer the question. The DLC's content is complete. The typical timeframe for exclusivity is passed. Either the release is imminent and they can let us know when, or there has been some sort of snag we are unaware of, in which case they could just be straightforward and say "The DLC is taking longer than expected because of X, we are working on it. Sorry for the delay." Why they insist on not communicating in any worthwhile manner is beyond me.

I don't think anyone deserves the craziness Beth is receiving. I'm not talking "you're a liar and you make me feel bad" sort of craziness, it's much worse, and I won't repost it here because it's probably against a rule.

I would guess if release were tomorrow achievements would be up, so the most likely day is shifting to Thursday, the day of the week both Dawnguard and Hearthfire arrived on Steam. Of course, obviously, if achievements go up tonight all bets are off, but with the lack of achievements, I'm calling it for Thursday.

I don't think it is. I remember reading waaay in the beginning after Skyrim had just come out that using the console blocks achievements for that particular savegame, which is why it took me 6+ months to even get achievements of the main quest (second playthrough) because I fiddled with the console a lot in the beginning. Right now my Steam says I've only done 22 of 65 achievements, though I know I've done a lot of the things that should earn me the achievements Steam says I haven't earned, because I use the console. It's the only explanation I have for this.

For any game, using the console blocks them. Happened to me all the time in New Vegas. You don't even have to use anything in the console, just hitting the '~' key will block it.

That's strange, I use the console every time I play skyrim, and I have almost all of the achievements.

On the other hand, there's a guy who allegedly cheated himself 5,000 gold, bought a house, and immediately got that achievement.

While true for NV, it doesn't happen for Skyrim.

I did hearthfire with the console god mode on (i'm a wizard and not investing in stamina mean NO carry weight points) and still got achievements.
Maybe you weren't online wile playing or steam wasent in online mode...

It does for me for some reason, but fortunately I don't care about achievements anyway.

Anyway, I'm hoping for a Thursday release.

According to Steam, I have only 3 achievments from Dawnguard still locked; but, it claims I have 58 of 65 earned. I think their math is bad. lol

"Not sure if Steam achievements are a reliable way of judging what PC players have done in Skyrim, I refuse to believe that 7.8% of all Steam players were impatient enough to quit before finishing Unbound."

I think 7.8% is pretty reasonable. I have a number of games that I got during Steam sales that I haven't played past the first quest. I've fired 'em up to set my graphics settings and other options, but that's it.

"For any game, using the console blocks them. Happened to me all the time in New Vegas. You don't even have to use anything in the console, just hitting the '~' key will block it."

I don't think this is true, or I would have gotten no Skyrim achievements. I am constantly using the console to set my FOV.

Wait, we were flaming in the last thread? Seemed entirely civil to me, and I was posting in it since page 2 or 3. On topic: Hopefully Talos will grant us a release this week, or I'm gonna start sacrificing virgin babes to Molag Bal again.

I don't think that's the case. To test this out, I used the console to give myself 100k gold, and sure enough I got the achievement. I was online at the time.

Mine only lists achievements reached when I played with Steam online. However I have done far, far more then Steam lists. Having finished the main quest and all the guild quests at least three times. I have also invested masses of hours into every part of Hearthfire, yet Steam says nothing about it.

I play with Steam offline all the time so it clearly isn't recording achievements during offline play. So I agree that the achievements on Steam can't realistically indicate anything really.

I've never fiddled with online/offline mode in Steam before. Just checked and I'm online, as always. Maybe it's a glitch, I don't know, I don't care. They're just achievements anyway :P

In my early play throughs I used the console constantly to fix issues I had in the game and managed to get all of the vanilla achievements. I think the issues come when you disconnect from Steam while playing.

Yea, I thought the same thing but some achievements are locked or not seen in the achievements list until you actually get them. The ones that are locked or hidden are "Proud Parent", "Land Baron" (buy 3 plots of land) and "Master Architect" (build 3 houses (with all 3 wings)). It's only Hearthfire achievements that are hidden. All Dawnguard achievements are visible.

On topic. I really hope that Dragonborn releases on the Tuesday. I've waited over a month, I don't want to wait anymore, my holidays are nearly over.

Ah I see, well that's weird, why would they hide that? I guess it was suppose to be a mystery that you would uncover while exploring the millions of things you can do with Hearthfire. *sarcasm*

Mine says I'm missing 14 while I can only see 10 that I need.

Tuesday tends to be a popular release day for most DLCs for most games. Submitted Friday or Sunday, approved Monday, sent out Tuesday.

Sidenote: I'd also like to say, that I wish the mods on BSN (BioWare Social Network) were half as vigilant as the ones on here. This forum even has censors (sure it can be bypassed, but the thought is what counts). I'm honestly impressed.
