If you are like me, a 100% PC playing, 100% console hating hard core gamer, then take the advice of the late Douglas Adams: DON'T PANIC!
Since they forced us to use STEAM to play Skyrim, use it to your advantage. Steam just had a huge summer sale; I picked up all the games that I would never ever EVER buy for $49.99, ($59.99??? REALLY - WHO IS THAT DUMB?) (really enjoying Witcher 2, got Saints Row 3 and the STALKER series waiting in queue, and much more), got most of them for under $26 each with all DLC and expansions, and all released more than long enough to be thouroughly patched, enhanced, and fairly bug free, and more than enough to keep me playing and entertained until Dawnguard is also a bug free fixed dowload on sale on Steam for $3.99...

And I still love the sound of the rain on the water in Morrowind, while casually farming pearls simply for the relaxation...

It was inevitable that Bethesda would begin to emulate EA Games and Activision, as inevitable as the fall of the Roman Empire...
