Permanent Death?

Post » Wed Nov 28, 2012 5:13 am

I get the general idea, dead is dead. No reloads, no second chances ( unless it was caused by glitch, lag, bug ) but how the heck can you play like this? does anyone have a DID character?
The idea sounds interesting but after hundreds of hours maybe more and you somehow fall in a fight, that's it? o.o Does anyone here play DID? If so any tips you can give? Is it worth the effort? Does it make it more realistic?

I haven't played DiD in this game yet, but I have in others. The trick is to create the character knowing that it will die. You're making the character for personal enjoyment and challenge - not for progression. Of course, you can and should still progress your character - just remember that it's just a game mechanic, not a goal in itself. Once you can get into that mindset, it can be great jumpy dodgy fun.

Ironically, I only get frustrated if a DiD character dies early. If the character survives for a long time and dies rich and well-developed, I call it a good run. Provided there were sufficient "close calls" so that I feel properly challenged.
