Permanent ice visual effect

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 1:07 pm

So, I've got this weird Ice thing at my character's feet. It grows and shrinks and spews fog and WON'T GO AWAY. I've tried three potential remedies I've read about: Turning ethereal, turning into a werewolf and even using the sixchange console command. None of these have worked (the last looked like it worked in 3rd person, but it came back when I changed views or reloaded the game).

Any suggestions for getting rid of it? Reloading a prior save isn't an option.

I had the same kind of thing, just with water droplets. I know you said you've tried the sixchange commands, but try it this way:

Open the console, type "sixchange"
Close the console, run around a bit.
Type "sixchange" again.

That's what solved it for me.

Just tried it, but no dice.

Yeah, yet another stupid bug. I have to run around with ice shards and arrows stuck to my body until they randomly disappear after loading the game sometimes.

Time...Ignoir it , it will go away. Most times it will go away when and IF you are hit with the same thing again...IE: Arrow stuck, get hit with another arrow...Poof

I had 2 "ICE" daggers for 5 days (real days) and they are gone now...I don't see it that much I play First person..

Finally found a solution, in a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_talk:Glitches#Smoke_Glitch.

Turns out the game glitchingly gave me the FX of an Ice Wraith. To fix it I used the console to give me the FX properly using player.addspell 000caf8a, went back into the game briefly and then used player.removespell 000caf8a to be rid of it.
