Pete Hines, Dawnguard PS3 Twitter Comment"We are working

Post » Fri Aug 31, 2012 1:21 am

"We are working on multiple projects, even beyond those two things. The entire team doesn't work on one thing at a time," Pete Hines https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/240519097274732544 to followers. "They are separate things," he said at the suggestion Hearthfire's development was slowing that of Dawnguard's for PlayStation.

In response to a fan upset at the continued absence of Dawnguard for PS3 Hines wrote: "Understood. We're disappointed too, but we're keeping at it."

It looks like they intend to release it one day. Not sure why they are having technical issues - maybe part of the Microsoft deal was to pretend that the PS3 wasn't powerful enough to run Dawnguard?

As always Bethesda raises more questions than it answers, especially if the statement is coming from compulsive liar, Mr Tweet Hines.

If Bethesda has multiple teams working on multiple projects, why is there information and even content forthcoming from one team but not another? With the current line being "we have nothing new to report" are we to assume that the Dawnguard PS3 team has made literally zero progress since Bethesda officially announced it was being held back a month ago? Zero progress in a month? Really?

I also don't think Tweet Hines understands at all. He says he understands our frustration at the lack of information but doesn't offer any information to solve that, he just continues to be part of the problem with these vague tweets claiming to understand, claiming to disappointed, claiming that work is ongoing but not showing any visible signs of progress.

I refuse to buy the whole disappointed line, if I'm doing something that I'm disappointed with, I change it. Where there is a choice, action and lack of action are one and the same. If Bethesda are disappointed that Dawnguard is late they could have put Hearthfire on hold and have those guys help on Dawnguard, it was an option open to them they didn't take. It's all well and good feigning disappointment, but where's the visible effort to end that disappointment?
