Not quite right. He means that once the current patch is certed and no more changes are made to it. Not that once it is certed, no more changes will ever be made to the game.

I understand that. What I think this means is that there will not be a PS3 framerate fix in the upcoming patch.

He should have added the words "to it" (i.e. the patch), because the statement is left ambiguous, and it's easy to assume he's talking about all fixes to Skyrim. :whistling:

To be honest, i think he means when once it is 100% ready to go live and they know they will make no more changes to this patch.

Misleading... But from a semantic point of view (if this was written spontaneously) we should not expect fixes on the game breaking lagging etc.

True.. Sony and Microsoft might have objections to something in the patch which Beth will have to work around. Its back and forth for a bit now. Thats the changes he is talking about.

Wouldnt surprise me if atleast Sony might rush this through though and that after halloween is a conservative statement re the release.

He just tweeted: "On the list for this update is improved performance for long-term play on PS3."

My hopes is that the beta players at Sony are taking two weeks to play it on the PS3 to make sure. Rollig new characters, playing them for 50+ hours each, making sure that all this is going to be fixed. Please god, let me be right.

Yeah, no.
Translation: I'm the PR/Marketing manager and can only tell you what I'm told to tell you. This includes telling you that I can't give you the changelog as of right now due to policy which generally issues a changelog with the release of the patch.

Do you have any reading comprehension whatsoever?

Seriously.

There are a lot of people on this forum who just say something to get attention but don't think any further than they can see.
Bethesda is not allowed to release a patch fix list because it's needs to go trough certification at both Microsoft and Sony.

In newbie language:
This means that both Microsoft and Sony are testing and looking at all sorts of scenarios.
Can the patch make the game worse? Can the patch destroy someone's console? etc.

After the certification is done, MS and Sony will tell Bethesda if there are any problems.
If not, Bethesda will have the ok from both companies to release a patch fix list.

They can't just release a fix list and mention ''Will improve loading times'' and then later on hear from Sony that that certain fix needs to be removed.

The way it was worded led me to believe they wouldn't be fixing anything. However, it's good to hear they're working on it. I hope it actually fixes the problem and doesn't just defer it until your save is say, 25 mb. I also hope they don't need to do anything to sacrifice the graphical quality of the game.

I'm very aware the PR person is generally only allowed to say what he's told. In a case like this, however, I would think it would be important to reassure your customers this is being fixed ASAP. Bethesda's strategy of initially denying the problem, then marginalizing it ("only affecting a few people"), then kinda/sorta admitting to it through vague comments on twitter, is frustrating. Also, it was not a problem for the company to confirm that issues with the 360 and PC would be fixed on those respective forums. We weren't expecting a full list of patch notes, we just wanted to have some reassurance they were going to deal with a very specific, game-breaking issue.
