Physical Copy of Dawnguard

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:23 am

I just noticed that the Dawnguard is now available for PC via Steam but I haven't found yet a way to order a physical copy of it. Does anyone know where to order that one?

That is not available. It's download only.

That's a shame. Will there ever be a physical release?

Why do you need one?
For a few reasons:
- I like physical copies
- I have never bought anything non-physical
- If I have a physical copy I don't need to buy a new copy of the game if I some day decide to buy a better computer
- I don't know if I can buy it directly with online bank service or do I need a credit card for it

You can pay with just online bank if you set up a PayPal account.

#3- once you buy software, they generally say "here's your key. Use this to get a copy of your software if you need it." With Steam, when you get a new computer and download Steam, it's gonna go "Oh, look. This guy doesn't have all the stuff he downloaded. Lemmie fix that."

Until the day when Steam is shut down and all our games disappear.

They said they're not planning a physical release. You'll probably have to wait for GOTY.

Actually VALVe is going to provide non-Steam vesions of all our games once they shut down.

A PayPal account? Why do I need a that one? Normally when you buy anything from any webstore you can just pay your things in online bank directly. I just wonder if you can do that with Steam which isn't actually a webstore. I have never heard anything like PayPal.

How does the paying via PayPal work?
And another question is that I saw there's "Visa" in the opinions but does that work with "Visa Electron" card?

I don't foresee them shutting down for a long while.

That's the problem, I don't think Steam accepts direct transfers from bank accounts.

As for PayPal, I think you are better off googling the answer. I can't provide a very good description. :P

Also, I think any card with a Visa logo will work. No harm in trying.

you can also grab those gift cards backed by visa master card American express ect.. at your local big name drug stores, walmart ect. for like 6 bucks + what ever you want to charge the card with.. you can use them like any credit card with out the usual risk of using your own card online or intrust charges..(confirmed way i paid for my copy off stream)

Yep. A debt card that has the Visa Logo counts as a Visa Card should you choose "credit" instead of "debit."

Once you download the DLC off Steam you can just copy it to a disk. That's what I did with Fallout 3's DLC as well as New Vegas' DLC and all of Oblivion's mods and DLC including Horse Armor.

If it's on your Steam account, you can just redownload it, so this isn't an issue.
