Physical to Digital (Xbox 360 Question)

Post » Mon Oct 21, 2013 10:28 am

Okay. I guess I might be very close to a 'bad moment' with my Xbox 360... The disc tray has begun having issues to open. It just took me about 8 tries within 5 minutes to get it open (And currently have Rock Band 3 in it)... And personally, I've notice some games have been available as digital purchases for the Xbox 360 and am curious... Would I need to rebuy said games or possibly something on the back of the manual to prove that I already own said games? (I've been thinking about going digital with some of my most played games personally already, mainly cause Minecraft had gotten me to like the idea).

That's all.

I'm actually giving digital downloads a second thought. The games act no different then their disk counterparts and you don't have to worry about digital games getting scratched, and you'll always have the game listed in your downloads so you can uninstall and re-install at will and never have to pay for them again (My dormant PS3 account transferred to my PS Vita quite nicely and I have all my downloads like FF 7 and 6, Parasite Eve and more). The only down side is having some way to back your save files if you decide to uninstall the game and upload something else.

And another downside is... Need to get the DLCs as well on their own.

I failed to find "Mortal Kombat: KOMPLETE Edition" as a digital download... Just the normal version. This would mean that I'm gonna need to get the DLCs separated as well as buying the 20 dollar game, if I truly have to buy it. (Though I only really care for are the extra DLC characters).

So far, I've figured out that I'm gonna need to rebuy it again. And I highly doubt I'll be able to just simply 'sell' the disc versions for same price...

I'll need to look more into this and see what I can do. If I do go digital, I might only do it with a few games. (Skyrim and MK for sure).

That is the downside to digital games then the disk games unless you already have the DLC on your console then it shouldn't matter. I like digital when it's a game I like and I can't find the disk version anymore.

The only DLC I've bought and downloaded would be Rock Band 3 songs and the three Skyrim DLCs. (Note: "Bought", I've got some free DLCs for some other installed games I have).
