PipBoy text is unreadable

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:27 pm

Hello.

I'm experiencing a very strange problem which affects my PipBoy and apparently also the game world texture size. I don't know how to describe the problem accurately, but the PipBoy interface text (STATS, ITEMS, DATA) is all blurred out, and unreadable. Furthermore the general texture size is somehow wrong. For some time i was able to create a work-around by Alt-tabbing out and in of the game, which resulted in both the PipBoy text, and the gameworld texture size returning to normal. Now, however, this work-around has seized to work, and it annoys the hell out of me. Does anybody know what is causing this problem?

Looks like the texture size is set to medium to me.

Hey.

Thanks for the quick answer.

According to the options page from the launcher, the texture quality is set to 'High'. Is there anywhere where I can set this manually?

You can try using the settings option once you launch the game.

Try updating your video card drivers if you havent.
Did this just start all of a sudden?
Do other games have problems?
ANy other symptoms?
Include as much as you can about the issue.
You might also post a dxdiag.

Hey again.

Problem solved!

It turns out that the mini map detail level in the Catalyst Control Center (for ATI graphic card) was set to performance, which blurred out the text in the PipBoy. Setting the detail level to Quality solved the problem. Funny thing is that I didn't change this setting, but I did update my graphic drivers last week, which may be the root cause to this problem.

Thank for the help anyway guys.
