Is Planet-Siders 2 any good, also about requiremen

about system requirements *

my computer has a AMD A10-5700 with Radeon HD 7660 Graphics as a PROCESSOR but bestbuy for some reason went backwards from that and installed an actual graphics card that is a Radeon HD 5450 with no ability to even crossfire them (im not even sure what that means besides having an onboard graphics thing and a card working at same time and im not sure why that would even be wanted but any way since the card is too old it cant be done) any way would I need to take the card out to be able to play the game on the recommended settings or even on the minimal ??
how do i find out how much video memory id have with out the card because with it i have 1,024
im running windows 7 and have 10 gigs of ram 825 gigs of space free and don't know what a sound card is probably direct x (computer was a display model owned by bestbuy that i only bought in april)
also if any one has played the game before what is teh control scheme like ?

I tried it out for a good 4 - 5 hours yesterday, its not that good TBH. And I love shooters. Especially since the colors are all off. I mean, I can play any game and have great picture quality, but then i played that game and there was a hew of gray over everything.....the combat itself isnt bad, but the maps are so big, that you end up chasing an enemy that is dead by the time you get to the next point.

Planetside two is a great game, GU09 has changed things a lot and some of the older players are still getting used to it. You should be alright with those specs but be warned the optimisation of that game is an utter mess, honestly it's awful.

There was a thread about PS2 a while ago I think, might be worth seeing if you can find it.

You don't chase them, you have to anticipate where they're going, which is a lot easier with the new Lattice map on Indar.

And until you figure out how that works, since it isnt explained at all, you are doing cat and mouse on a grand scale.

There's a tutorial coming, eventually. Join a squad or two and follow orders and you'll pick it up quick enough.

If anyone's playing on Cobalt I'm more than happy to give them a hand getting started.

Unfortunately there is no english server option for europe, so i got stuck with nothing but italians and what not. Maybe when that tutorial comes out, I will play again, until then, Ill be on SWTOR.

The controls are more like CoD to be honest. About your computer, im not sure TBH... they should have a reccommended specs page....i didnt pay attention though, lol.

I don't know about "Planet-Siders 2", but Planetside 2 is not bad if you understand what it's about and aren't an idiot.

The main bottleneck for performance is the CPU. Because there are a lot of things going on (you can have hundreds of players in an area, for one thing), with plenty of processes relying on other processes, it is a difficult program to optimise.

There's four servers for Europe Ceres, Cobalt, Miller and Woodman, you will find english speaking groups on all of them. As of now Cobalt is the recommended EU server so it has the highest population.

Only way to really find out how well your computer will handle it is to install and boot up you can always uninstall if it's too slow or it's not working well enough.

It should be fairly easy to spot the english groups in the Squad list. Just look for something obvious like Indar Squad, follow waypoints, mics. That should land you in an organised squad with a bit of pvssyr.

Which server are you on?

Why don't you download it, run it and see if your PC can run it fine on whatever settings.

You need to learn to do stuff for yourself, seriously, ask your mum or Google sometime.

- Since it's free, I've changed the beginning, because you know, 1 word negates a whole point...

Id have to check, i just picked the highest populated one. ATM im balls deep in SWTOR though >_< Ill check out the game again sometime in the near future. Ill hit you up.

Someones mom didnt teach them manners. Also, the game is 100 percent free, why would he need to DL a demo.

That wasn't impolite, I gave him a pointer and then a suggestion.

If the game is free then there is absolutely no need for this bogus thread, because he should have just DL'd it and tested it for himself

I have and his existence cause me mental pain, just behind my forehead somewhere, why he's even allowed to make such threads is bewildering. Probably the off-shoot of an employee or something

If someone has a such a slow connection that downloading the game is an issue, then they shouldn't be bothering with online games to begin with.

99.99% of the time, having a dedicated graphics card is far superior to having graphcs processed on the CPU. By offloading the graphics processing, or any processing for that matter, the CPU can spend more time running the core application. This is the very reason graphics cards are so popular (and to a lesser extend, sound cards).

If you removed the graphics card you would not gain any benefit. The video memory normally is memory on the graphics card itself, separated from the normal system memory, or RAM, so if you removed the graphics card, your system will have to store graphics related data in your RAM, which takes up space from everything else, potentially slowing down performance, as your system will have to juggle graphics data and other game data. Now with 10 gigs of RAM, this isnt too much of an issue, but if you have a graphics card, it is better than not having one, unless the card is far under powered from your system, which yours is not. Its not great, but its not terrible either.

Dont worry about sound. Your motherboard sound chip is more then capable to handle every day needs like gaming. And your graphics card has the Direct X necessary, so dont worry about that either.

Uh, no. A two megabit (so 256 kilobyte/second) connection would generally be adequate for gaming, but would take about a day straight to download a 15GB game like PS2. If it's worthwhile a patient man will just deal with it, but it would be understandable if he wanted to check if he'd actually play it for more than five minutes.

Additionally, some internet plans limit the total amount of data a person may download in a month, which means the 15GB could be taking a significant bite out of a limited resource.

I love the game, personally. It's improving weekly through fantastic patches that adds a great deal of content. It's almost a constant stream. The gameplay itself is decent. Gunplay is good, but the flow of the maps can be confusing without being in a squad that knows what they're doing.

And this isn't even mentioning the 40-50 strong tank columns rolling in on a base accompanied by a couple dozen flying things and a few dozen foot soldiers. The epic scale is unmatched.
