HOMES - yes, player homes are stil a problem for me. They are a huge part of my play experience, as it is a part of the game that I feel the player can really take ownership of and personalise. So when glitches interfere with what I have spent many hours developing, it is understandably frustrating. Here are the ones currently plaguing me:
- Armour stands: these things be crazy! Moving around the house when I'm not looking, removing items at will, and, most recently, cloning gear previously placed on them. Now I'm sure not everyone would complain at a full set of Deathbrand or Ancient Falmer armour being cloned, but when it happens every time I enter the house (in this case, Raven Rock), it gets a bit much (and ruins the carefully thought out display....I know, I'm lame).
- Weapon racks: this can often depend on the weapon (the Dawnguard ones in particular do NOT like being put on display), but weapons will often not place properly, and sometimes just fall on the floor instead.
- Item placement: one of my favourite aspects of having player housing is the ability to place unique items found on adventures around the house, telling a story of my characters' journeys. The problem is that, firstly, placing the items is very difficult, given that, after a recent update, items seem to be weighted so that they hang upside down when 'grabbed'. Secondly, upon returning to the house, items have often moved, been displaced by a previously removed object (misc items and such), or even straight up disappeared, never to be seen again. I would cite Fallout 3 as a game where item placement was implemented successfully, with none of the above issues.
That's it for now, though I will update this post if any further problems arise. As I said before, this is the main set of problems diminishing my enjoyment, as I feel that the player home is important as a living testament to the achievements of our characters within this beautifully crafted world, and it seems a shame that after investing so much time into the world, the various relics, artefacts and curiosities that we wish to display to represent this achievement don't get the screen time they deserve.
Thanks for your time
