Playing on 360 without live or any internet connection?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 6:27 am

My Xbox is in no way connected to the internet, so I won't be able to do updates etc. So is my copy going to be a bugged out p.o.s.? Or do you think it will be fine?

If you have Internet at home that plugs into an Ethernet cable, just plug that into your xbox to update.

You do need internet access for patches...there's isn't much to say about it otherwise (svcks, but what can you do).

I'm using my wife's college internet which doesn't allow me to hook my xbox up. So there are ways to get on here and not be able to update.

Could do like I am and go to someone else house for internet.

You could plug the Ethernet cable that is currently plugged into your computer into your 360 and create an Xbox live silver account to get the patches.

I have no intenet connection at home either. I'll have to lug my ps3 to my buddies if patches are needed. Doing it at work would not be a good idea, haha.

I haven't updated mine, and it's fine. I plan to update it later today. It is just a hassle for me since I have a small child that comes here once in a while and likes to cycle the consoles power button off and on and most of the time he leaves it on, and I don't pay attention to it and it gets left on for hours without use. So I pulled it out of the living room. I have a older 2008 Xbox360. The game runs fine and looks awesome.

Dude, I know people on my street that have wireless blue ray players (that they can't figure out how to operate); how do you figure you're going to game without having access to the internet? Updates? DLC? No execuse. Gaming is like every other media hobby; it thrives on online content; it's going to keep getting more connected rather than less. I'm an old fogey; I don't own a single mmo; I don't play multiplayer but I wouldn't dream of not having a constant high speed connection.

I know you can update the xbox OS without a connection to live, not sure about game patches though. If you can find the patch on the internet to download form either Bethesda or xbox live site then you can save it to a USB drive and load it that way. I know xbox updated can be done this way. My source is the xbox live support forums.

There is supposed to be a patch on release day, but there are also people who have gotten a copy on Tuesday (due to various mix-ups with retailers) and have been playing it without the patch, so it's more or less hit or miss. If you have a friend with an internet connection I recommend paying that friend a visit along with your Xbox, and getting any patches that way...

I assume banned xbox from cheating/hacking whatever. Not saying he did it but you can buy banned boxes for solo play pretty cheap.

Still......not one person answer this man's simple question.. no the bugs will not affect your game to the point of it being non playable.

it might effect you! i mean there will be some big bugs found! of that i am pretty sure!

and even though i do not have a hacked xbox, i still no that even if you got banned you can still update your firmware and update it with patches...........

its not worth getting banned over if you jailbreak it or whatever its called
