playing as a vampire is boring as hell

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 11:11 am

playing as a vampire to get the achievement at the moment.

I find it boring as hell, kind of a drag to upgrade the perks compared to playing as a werewolf getting those perks.

i dont understand how people say the vampire is so awesome, whereas to me it a big letdown.

I am liking it more than the werewolf to be honest. Playing as a trickester thief the vampire lord and bonus works well.

I tried but couldn't get into it, and I never enjoyed being a WW either to be honest.

Both VL and WW are just terrible to play. 3rd person camera, can't pick up anything or use inventory, run around killing ... just for the heck of it. Have to change back just to loot the bodies. Just a complete waste of time IMO. Didn't even feel like I was playing a TES game anymore.

You don't really need to understand.

There's plenty of crap I don't understand. Like ridiculous immersion mods that track your f'ng carbs and protein, like smelters in basemants, like 20-year old girls with 4 kids, like computers that perform slower than me, like how Excel's clipboard clears itself whenever it feels like, and like people who don't understand how playing a vampire is fun. Would understanding it help me? Nope. It is the way it is and none of it affects my life, so I don't necessarily *want* to understand.

You don't like playing a vampire. End of story.

I usually scream things at my tv. These usually range from:
"I'M BATMAN!!!"

"WHERE IS HE!? WHERE'S HARVEY DENT!?" (Bandits usually don't give a satisfactory answer)

"I'M NOT THE HERO SKYRIM NEEDS...I'M THE ONE IT DESERVES!"

It's great fun. :)

I prefer playing a vampire over some guy who can shout burps. But to each their own.

I didn't finish playing as a vampire either. And I seldom become a werewolf, but I remain one so that I don't get diseases. I don't want to have to worry about feeding or the sunlight or any of that. So I think I'll leave being a vampire to others.

Bethesda can offer those options in a future patch... they DID implement mounted combat and kill cams afterall...

I didn't think I would like playing a vampire when I was doing the DG side, but I've really gotten into it with my Breton Necromancer Tepes Bathory. Ghosting over the Sea of Ghosts at night is something to behold.

Also, infinite carry weight. I just moved 1,000+ weight from my Lair in Anise's Cabin to Windstad Manor.

They both have tremendous dis-benefits. The Werewolf is not very controllable, as you cannot choose when to leave the form except to "wait". The Vampire Lord has tremendous negative effects on regular form during the daytime, and can be a large pain in the ass if you fast travel often. Neither of them can go into first-person or interact with objects/NPCs.

I have a fully upgraded werewolf form on my main character (Khajiit), simply because besides dialogue it does not affect my regular form, but I could live without it considering I don't ever use it.

This got me thinking. I wish I could pick up bandits (necromancers and the like) and carry them around in my Vampire Lord form. Then I could take them to the top of a tower, hold them over the edge and yell "WHERE'S HARVEY DENT?".....then drop them when they don't answer me. :P

Seriously though. A grab and carry / throw function in beast form would be awesome. Imagine as a werewolf, picking up a Nazzeem and carrying him back to your den...OOOO!!!...or throwing him off the Dragonreach Tower =O

....Bethesda, get on that! =D

They got that in the blade and soul MMO xD

It reminds me of predator concrete jungle where you'd carry people by the face then skin them alive on a tower, and leave them hanging for all to see while you roared.

I tend to just continuously throw them to my destination. The fall is only just enough to break their legs. The Throat of the World, not so much.
