Playstation 3 also has texture streaming issues.

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:53 am

A friend and I were comparing our copies of Skyrim side-by-side today. He opted out of the install, as he has the 360 version, and I (owner of the PS3 version, obviously) was forced to install. Unsure if that is the reason behind this or not... but I want Bethesda to be aware that it seems the texture streaming issue isn't exclusive to the 360. Often I've noticed that textures, especially on terrain and armor, are incredibly low-resolution (we're talking 64-era quality).

Anybody else have these issues?

I thought the textures on certain parts of armor (mostly hand gear) and on my iron shield seem out-of-place in how poor they look, but I'm not sure if that's normal or not.

It definitely isn't normal. Not only was I comparing the same equipment and locales to his 360 copy (his was noticeably sharper) but later that same set of armor would appear quite sharper.

It appears you're having the same issue. I have a pretty full schedule this weekend and won't get around to playing Skyrim, but if you can, try and post an image of the terrain. That seems to be where it hits hardest. I've noticed it especially on rocks around the snowier regions.

LOL :D

Pity it's true at times, as is a blizzard coming right through the walls of a structure, kills the immersion a little.

Suddenly, perspective. I had no idea Morrowind looked so much better.

i don't know people but a have a different point of view here...my textures are sharp and the colors are vibrant....i am very happy with the PS3 version of the game....

i played 9 hours so far, i am level 4 and i must say walking on mountains and terrains are a blast...the night is a little to dark but a had no other problems with the game so far....

no stuttering so far or frame issues....(it seems indeed some places are above 30fps and some others a little under 30 fps but no real problem so far...)

i have all the automatic saves disabled and the display settings are on full RGB... (you can't imagine how deep and colorful the graphics with these settings are)
