I see no reason for the ps3 version to be any different from the xbox 360 version. Perhaps the loading screens will be a bit shorter for xbox, as the game was built with that system in mind. The file size is just under 2Gb larger, which i'm guessing is because Bethesda has more experience with compression for the 360, But 2Gb is nothing to most ps3 hard drives. So put your worries to ease, both versions will be epic!

There's nothing to discuss. There is no new information concerning the PS3 version and there won't be any.

im pretty sure the compression difference is that the ps3 has none for sound. a 50gig disc dosent need to compress sound.

The last thread was locked because it hit 11 pages, for some reason they do that around here. I don't know why as it just creates more clutter but oh well.

I'm excited for the PS3 version, but I'm also reserving that excitement a little bit because I am worried this game will be the PS3 version of New Vegas all over again. Oblivion runs orders of magnitude better on PS3 than New Vegas so that is keeping me from being worried too much. I just really hope there isn't a massive amount of stuttering, FPS drop outs, and stuff like that, I had enough of that in New Vegas, and if it happens in Skyrim I am going to be extremely upset and disappointed.

The other thread was locked because it hit post limit. If you read the forum rules, you would know that. :read:

I deleted the off topic posts - but I would appreciate you actually putting some content in your opening post, not just a link to the prior thread. Otherwise this thread has no direction and it will get closed until there is a separate PS3 section after launch.

My OP isn't talking about that. I'm aware it was locked for thread limit, however, last post-last page, a user already tried to open a new discussion since it was going to be locked for a post limit and we got this -> http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1254069-ps3-version-chat/

They have one for every supported platform for a given game on these forums. It helps organize and categorize hardware and software problems into their respective categories.

never noticed one for oblivion/fallout and couldn't find different sections when i checked....
Oblivion's is long gone because they simply aren't supporting the game, technically, in any way, anymore, but Fallout 3's is still there. Click in the hardware and software issues subsection and you'll see.

Graphics aren't Terrible but I'm not that impressed. Maybe I'm spoiled by uncharted. I'm up to the character creation part now.

you never know PS3 players may get the luxury of getting to play with a mouse and keyboard this time around (some games support it like UT3).... but as well as i can assume it will have similar controls to oblivion meaning that you will move your head with the right stick and your body with the left stick

That has been the general way of doing things, if a game has a multi-platform release. :) So I don't expect Skyrim to be any different. It allows people to find info and help more quickly for their respective platforms. I am not an "official" voice though. So it's possible I could be wrong, but I bet it will happen.

Just wanted to say once I left the starting dungeon, I was more impressed by the graphics and the world. The game has ran pretty well so far. No lag or crashes. The only major issue I have is that some of the shadows look freaky. They flicker and move in weird ways. I don't think ps3 owners should worry much. It's pretty great so far (about 2 hours in).

The flickering (as far as I've noticed in videos... of which there are several now; anyone's interested, I'd gladly provide a link... just PM me) is odd, but as to the moving in weird ways, I'll assume that's just because they're low-resolution shadows and pixelated shadows don't make for the smoothest shadows. I'm trying to pry through the blurry footage there is and see and I think there's definitely some anti-aliasing, but having played it yourself, is there?

The fact that Gamestop has to sell to both platforms has nothing to do with it of course :whistling:

It's just a guy on a forum post. Not an official statement by Gamestop.

At the very beginning I noticed that the characters around me were pretty jaggy at a distance. After that, I haven't noticed as much. So I'm assuming there is some AA. I'm not very far but I am pretty impressed overall. Just hit lv 2 :D
