no, don't think the problem is with the networks. What it IS is that now they've released the patches, they have to get their testers to play HH again, to make sure there aren't any new bugs introduced by the patch. (and twice, in the case of xBox). If they DO find anything, they have to recompile/re-release to vendors, and that could take weeks. So they're making sure everything is running smoothly before moving forwards.
That being said, Josh is quick enough to come here and sit around for hours shooting the breeze about guns, and kudos to him for doing that. Wouldn't hurt Gstaff or Jason one of the other Beth bigwhigs to come on here once a day either, if only to say "hope everyone is ok this fine day" or "not long now" or "here is a teaser pic to keep you going".
Much like the Mojave, all we get are tumbleweeds rolling past in the wind. And it's p***ing people off. The whole point of social internet, forums, twitter, facebook, is that you interact with your fans (for that's what we are), not just pop up once every six months to make a statement then vanish again. Is it crucial for the running of your business? Probably not. Does it make good business sense to keep your fans happy and rooting for you? Absolutely. Brand loyalty. If the Bethesda/Obsidian brand starts getting a bad name for messing around it's users, then that kind of mud sticks. Hope it doesn't, but mentions of New Vegas lately have, for the most part, ALL been "where is the DLC?" "any news on the DLC?"
