Please can we have an anti radiation CHEAT?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:30 pm

Or a way of fast travelling out of dungeons?

Thanks to the amazing radiation every second mechanic in vault 34 and the autosave feature. My save now is at a point where I have full radiation and die .5 seconds after I load the game.

Something like a pokemon escape rope or just letting us fast travel out when we've finished quests would stop this kind of stuff happening.

My bad for not leaving in time but I shouldn't be punished with complete lock out of my save for it.

no thats stupid and would kil the purpose of the game
its fallout they had as nuclear fallout what do you expect!
idc if its been a really long time its the purpose of the game and radiation can stay until it is absorbed and the world is not the same til all of that is disposed of before the radioactive stuff spreads
so no you my not
find a dupe cheat and dupe some rad away or some rad x whatever floats your boat

Can always go back to an earlier save? There is little chance both your auto-save and quick-save are instant death.

I hear there is a mod floating around that makes radiation not kill you.

Sounds like a good bandaid to me.

I find this funny because I am considering attempting a mod that would double the amount of radiation you get in the game. It seems I have a stack of 20+ Radaway & RadX on me at all times that don't really get used too often.

Might want to consider using the god mode console command, though I'm not sure if it would actually work with radiation sickness.

I'm playing on xbox, I have no anti radiation gear on me, I took a little to long in the vault, now I can't get out.

IMO that's the best purpose of things like cheats.

Would let me continue my game, Instead I now have a useless 40 hour save.

Try this:
player.additem 00015167 10

you can change the 10 to however many Radaway you want.

Edit: Does the console even work on the xbox? I only use it on PC so I'm not sure if this will actually help you.

Someone said they got the console to work by plugging in the right keyboard.

If you're using the console, you may as well use "tgm" (the God mode) to get out.

xbox can not use the console.

@OP - start getting in the habit of making one "master" save for each major area you go to.. I have one for immediate wake-up, one after completing the Goodsprings area ... etc. and then in addition, make a working (manual) save you use to save at key moments ... that way you have options. I am sorry you can't get out of this jam. I've been there so I now have the save system I do.

Thats your own fault for not making manual saves. I have 3 saves for each character and while playing I rotate through them when entering a new area. That way if I bug out a quest or make a mistake (like you have) I can roll back to earlier points before the problem occured.

Yeah I'm going to do that if I ever decide to play through again :)

I guess I was just naive and didn't think it was the sort of game/company that would let this kind of thing happen. I mean, area in which you literally constantly suffer radiation and have to get from one side of it to the other, then back out.

Not really one for the explorers amongst us

Or just use the elevator at the end of the hall from the armory which takes you right up to the cave part at the beginning of the zone then a quick run to the door though that won't help if you are dead that fast.

It's perfect for exploring - dangerous, but with lucrative rewards if you can pull it off. Hate to say it but it really was all your fault for coming unprepared and failing to make multiple saves.

am i the only one that didn't find the vault 34 radiation that bad?? i just wore my space suit and took a radaway and rad-x every 5-10 minutes, theres also perks you can get, 1 which raises your rad resistance, 1 which lowers your radiation level over time, and 1 which actually heals you when you get radiaited.

I'm pretty sure theres at least 1 suit of advanced radiation gear in vault 34

you shouls also make a habit of creating a manual save every hour or so, its saved many many headaches and broken quests for me.

The length of the quest and the way the mechanic works is stupid rather than dangerous.

Regardless of how stupid I was to not have a save from tonight , (I still have last nights save)

It's not a great move to have a mechanic that forces you to lose your game save if you get a bit lost.

OK I understand to save more often if I ever start playing again.

Tbh I don't get much time to play because I work a lot, the thought of spending another week to get to the same point isn't very appealing to me tbh.

I'm a big fallout fan, I like the game, have the CE, Guide etc. Just a little bit disappointed that the solution to problems is to have 1000 separate save games.

I do agree with Kiryani to a point. I don't recall anyone giving advanced warning that the vault was going to be hot. The 1 rad per second is not that bad even if you don't have a suit Rad X does a decent job but the real killer are those ghouls with the Vault 34 jumpsuits that do some kind of radiation burst when they get close. Once I ran into those clowns I was going through Rad Away like it was candy. Overall I loved this zone it made me think and plan ahead on how I was going to deal with it and not just some place you run into and grab quest item and out in under a minute.
