Please help with stuck companions

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 12:53 am

Can someone please help? I am on some broken ice with Lydia and Verelus near Ysgramor's Tomb. No matter what I do, these followers will not follow across the ice sheets. I have used Irresistable Force to knock them into the water; brawled with them; told Lydia I did not need her anymore. Nothing works. They stay on this ice shelf.

In desperation, I tried the Console Command player.placeatme and they do show up, but are clones of the originals (this is particularly noticeable with Lydia, who shows up in her original state without all the weapons, armor and items of the Lydia still on the ice shelf)! BTW, I am carrying way too much making Fast Travel not an option.

So, is there any way to get these two followers off the ice shelf and back at my side again?

Thanks for any and all help.

Companions usually teleport into the tomb when you enter, give it a try.

That's the first thing I tried, but they did not follow. Went back outside, used Aura Whisper and saw their auras in the same place I left them. This is very frustrating...

I've always been able to get them next to me by Waiting 1 hour.

Just tried Waiting, but they still do not follow. Went back outside the tomb, Waited an hour - nothing. Waited 24 hours, used Aura Whisper and saw them off in the distance in the same spot.

This stinks...

Thanks for the replies. I'm still trying....

Don't use placeatme command, it duplicates them. use moveto command instead. Ex:
prid
moveto player

Have you tried Fast Traveling to the tomb while standing on the ice floe from which Lydia won't leave? How about waiting an hour from inside the tomb?

FUS RO DAH! them out of the spot? I see you've tried that, try knocking them somewhere else. Go undernearth them if you can and send them airborn.

Try paralyzing them too, maybe they'll fall to a position they can recover from and be fine?

or use that consol command above

Okay, just tried the player.moveto command as suggested, but it takes my character back to the ice shelf! If I could get it to work in reverse that would be awesome...

Another thing might be to stand on the ice floe with her, dismiss her, and then reinvite her before she walks away.

Tried sending them airborne from under the ice, but cannot Shout underwater. Was able to knock Lydia into the water with Unrelenting Force, but not Verelus - he falls backwards.

Just forced Lydia into the water then shot her with a paralyzing arrow. She floated for a few seconds then climbed back onto the ice.

Tried beating Verelus then shouted him into the water. He disappeared as if he was dead. Then he showed up but at the bottom of the trench...

Thanks for the suggestions tho...

Tried that too, but she just stands there and does not walk away.

This is a real problem...

Thanks for the response.

Okay AtrumVentus, you da man! I wasn't doing the command properly. It worked and the followers are off the ice and back with me again!!! Yay!

Many thanks to you and all the others who contributed to solving this problem. I truly do appreciate it!
