Could someone help me figure out why Skyrim is lagging so bad on my computer. I just bought it because I have a gaming computer I bought in 2009, and was told that it should run Skyrim like a piece of cake, yet as soon as I start up the game, it lags like crazy. I bought the 3 DLCs and the High texture pack, and I only have one mod installed (Tales of Lycanthropy), I feel like it should not be lagging this bad. Even when I adjust the resolution to the lowest settings the lag stays the same, it might get a little better but for the most part it is negligible.

Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition

Sorry I am not a technical person, so I just copied that off the side of my CPU. Any advice would be extremely helpful, and I would be very grateful, but as I said I am not a technical person, so I may not know what you are talking about with some of your solutions.

Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for the game. You need a new computer.

And that computer was never a "gaming computer" by any standard. That video card can't do a thing.
