Please stay calm

I know that recently people have become very upset about the 360 exclusive demo. Most of the threads have gone from friendly to a war zone. Most users(myself included) have overreacted about all of this. Dont get me wrong, I am still upset about Crytek not including PS3 and PC players. I may be a 360 player but that doesnt mean that I dont get angry when PS3 an PC players arent included. You do have the right to be mad but lets try to be mad while staying calm. Besides its just a demo. In the end you all get to play the game so dont cancel your pre-order just because of a little demo. Also this isnt Crytek's fault. Its EA's. Lets all just calm down and stop arguing with eachother. The point is, is that all of us, regardless of your platform, think Crysis 2 is awesome. Lets all just stay calm and work this out.

Yeah at first I was like FU Crytek!! but I didn't cancel my order today so like you said "Besides its just a demo. In the end you all get to play the game". I agree.. :)
But hey ps3 has Brink exclusive demo so I guess these things happen.

It just seems EA is shafting PC gamers. No Dead Space 2,BulletStorm or Crysis 2 Demos for PC all announced in 2 weeks wtf!! bulletstorm i don't want anyway im just saying.

I would like to know if a game is crap before I use my money you know?

so dont cancel your pre-order just because of a little demo.

I think the initial rage has died down, but it's still disappointing :/

IMO canceling a pre-order isn't such a big deal. It's just saying "ok I don't have the confidence to buy your game based on the current info." Most people will probably buy it again once they read over reviews and see the game in action. No big deal. It's a good way to say "hey, we'd also like some attention" while still supporting the game (we'll buy it once you start giving us some info).

And really, it's not just because we "don't get a demo" - there's a lot more to it then that. It's frustrating how people are saying "ohh you pc players totally going **** because you don't get a demo whine whine whine..." but you have to understand it's not just the demo. There's been a suspicious lack of information in regards to the PC/PS3 versions.

E3 gameplay reveal? Xbox 360. "Hero's Journey" trailer? Xbox 360. MP beta "stress test"? Xbox 360. New MP trailer? Xbox 360. MP beta? Xbox 360.

See a pattern? Not a single PC screenshot released. Not one snippet of gameplay video - nothing. Has mod support been officially announced? Nope. Is SB2 shipping with Crysis 2? Hopefully, but nothing confirmed. For any other game, I don't think this would bug me as much, but for the sequel to such a definitive PC game like Crysis, it's kind of unnerving.

PS3 players are really getting the shaft. At least PC players have had rumors and snippets from people saying "oh god it's beautiful - you guys won't be disappointed" but nothing for the PS3.

I really want this game to be good, and I really want this game to do well on PC, because I know it if doesn't there will be a huge chance that Crysis 3 won't come out for PC (yeah EA I know you would go there you sly dogs), but at the same time part of me wants to see it bomb on the PC because it's ridiculous that they completely ignore us and rely on the idea that it'll sell well on pc just because Crysis 1 was such a definitive pc game.

It's an insulting sign of the developer to his/her community. With no take on the recent back lash from the latest xbox 360 exclusive demo fiasco? Come on, at least try to be a little professional?

Its not the fact that we don't get a demo, its the fact that time after time PC is getting shafted and seemingly forgotten. The franchise that started on PC is now beginning to look like a Microsoft First Party series. All PC gamers get are two or three sentences that simply state opinions that its better when we haven't seen any proof of such things.

It's a quote from Darth Vader.

I don't think people should be upset about the exclusive beta at all, but if you need somewhere to direct your frustration I would look more towards EA. As they more then likely made the decision as to making the beta exclusive or not. That being said, there is nothing stoping EA/Crytek from releasing a SP demo some time in the future. Personally, after all the raging...if I were Crytek after reading these boards. "Canceling my preorder" and such, I would give a big F you to all these raging kids and continue on without anymore demo/betas. But that's just me.

If you actually bothered to read more than three sentences in these forums, you would know that the cancellations have to do with a complete lack of any information that has to due with the PC/PS3, not even a second of video or a screenshot. The Xbox360 exclusive demo was just the last straw and the community is now responding to the complete lack of marketing for the other platforms.

I think you are right, OP.People shouldn't get blind by anger regarding a simple demo and to cancel their pre-orders.
I truly understand how the PC and PS3 gamers feel because i used to be a PC'er a long time ago and i know how much it felt to be ignored or left behind by developers & publishers.

I'd rather not keep bringing this up, but again - let me restate this (in bold).

It's not JUST because we don't get a demo.

The disappointment stems from the fact that there has been zero media about the PC or PS3 versions while the 360 seems to be inundated with press and attention. Every single major media announcement has been with the 360, yet the PC/PS3 versions have gotten nary a screenshot or video. Not. One. Pixel. It's not just the demo. It's the compounded frustration of waiting and waiting and waiting for information and always being let down. That's where the disappointment stems from.

It's really easy to fix this though. An official statement like "hey, we're getting ready to release PC/PS3 footage soon, sorry for the wait but we think you'll really like it" would do wonders, but apparently the PR people can't be bothered to do this. Communicate with your fans. If it weren't the odd word from a random person who got to play the game on PC or comment from a random dev, it's as if the PC/PS3 versions don't exist.

All we have are rumors heard through the graqevine and to be honest all this sneaking around and deception by the PR people is quite insulting and unprofessional. The lack of transparency regarding gameplay footage is appalling (trailers made on the PC at console settings with a control pad to make it look like console footage? Be up front with us so we know what to expect). You have to understand that some of us fans have been waiting since 2007 for a sequel to Crysis. 3 years later, now that it's here, it's like the game devs would rather we didn't exist.

I agree, some people overreacted (raaaaage), but don't put all of our complaints off as the ranting of madmen. It's rude and a misdirected generalization.

I own a PC, and a PS3 that largely collects dust aside from the exclusives. I never got a Xbox360 because of XBL subscription.

PC specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1075T @ 3.6GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 Overclocked
Corsair 4GB RAM DDR3-1333
500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive

This is ridiculous. I have Crysis 1. Have been playing it for about a year. Do not expect me to be calm if the developers of my favourite game have told me to f off, because the want to sell to xbox 360 nubs. I also hate these xbox players screaming QQ at everything we PC players have to say.
