PLEASE tell me you can turn Slow-Mo takedowns off

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 1:52 pm

I love the way the first-person take downs look, but I hate how the third person slow-mo take downs happen so often ( from what i've seen of gameplay footages )
Please tell me there's a way to turn them off so it's just first person takedowns? I know PC players will probably be able to MOD this, but can console players turn this off too?
If not and they don't fix this with a patch i'll be pissed, don't need to spend 2 hours of 200 hours watching a slow-mo takedown from the third person view that doesn't even contact with the enemy sometimes.

Are we sure about that? Obsidian has a "kill cam" toggle in FO:NV.

Yes, but that's Obsidian. I believe the Hinelord confirmed that you cannot turn the slow-mos off.

Except if you are on the PC ofcourse. I suppose you can edit it out in the .ini file.

Bummer. It does get tiresome after a while. Here's hoping you're right about it being in the ini.

Well, you could exclusively play archer/mage characters, that way you won't get any slow-mos at all.

So it's not possible to disable finishing moves in the options? :shakehead:

I'm still uncertain about this. Pete Hines said no, but I think he may have been referring to whether we can turn all finishers off completely. Someone who tried a hands-on demo of the game said that 3rd-person finishers could be disabled in the control settings (though i'm not sure how trustworthy this is).

If they cannot be disabled, it'll be the first thing I mod out of the game.

I hated the slow mo cam in Fallout. If it can't be disabled, it will be modded.

How does slow-mo takedowns work in fights against multiple enemies? Does the game pause? or will the giant hit you while you watch the animation of you killing a rat?

The slow-mo camera in Fallout 3 had one nice effect it often let you see around corners.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that if you are in combat with multiple enemies you will only have a chance to have a finisher on the last enemy remaining.

i hope its modded for better suited timing.. an epic killshot on a quest target/ dungeon boss or whatnot is cool but randomly walking down a path and pulling off a spin move shield bash to sword slash on a wolf is just lame and out of place.

That would really svck! The first person finishers are OK, but the third person one are not only annoying, but look terrible! I really hope there is at least an option to remove the third person finishers. I'm playing a pure mage character though, so eh.

I don't see what the problem is with 3rd person finishing moves. Atleast its something new... If people dislike them that much, we'd still be at Oblivions combat style.

I'll be amazed if they don't have a toggle option since they know they have a big RP'er fan base.

If strange blades of grass can kill immersion im pretty sure a random out of body experience is going to wreck it O.o
