Pls, make ESO more sandbox than themepark

Post » Sat Aug 18, 2012 8:13 am

I want to play ESO as a sandbox MMO. I want a virtual world and the tools to manipulate alone or with guild the world I live in.
Build, conquer territories, bases; a player based economy; complex character evolvement; sieges and awesomely harsh PvP.
Enought whit Theme Park madness.
And enought whit wow clones.

Also, about voice acted :
Limited please and give me the tool for to be able to skip them. I dont' want to play an interactive video, I want to play a mmo game!

In short, what I'm looking for : theme park for main quest and part of leveling, but sandbox for endgame, crafting, pvp.

I would hardly call the themepark model a WoW clone, also, they have already stated this game will not be sandbox. Although, they did state that there will be conquering of keeps, outposts, and mines, player economy, and from what I can tell, awesomely harsh PvP.

Well I can tell you right now it won't be a WoW clone, that term is so overused, and completely inaccurate. If you would like to call this game a clone of anything, a closer hit would be a DAOC clone, considering Matt Firor is leading the project, although, I wouldn't call this game a clone of anything. From all the information I have read thus far, this game is far from a clone, and much more of a unique mmo experience.

As for, enough with themparks, I love the themepark model. My first MMO was SWG, so I can speak from experience with sandbox mmo's, and when I look back, SWG was a complete mess. Sure, the completely involved player economy, player driven cities, and other features you come to love in sandbox mmo's is great, but at the expense of other gameplay that I would rather not miss. My biggest pet peeve was that the world felt cluttered with player homes/cities everywhere. One of my favorite things about TES games is the beautiful worlds created for us to walk around in, if they create the kind of sandbox I am familiar with (which they already haven't, but that is besides the point) the world would be cluttered with cities, and homes, completely ruining the beauty of the environment laid before us.

That is pretty much how this game seems like it is being made. You will lvl up with your own story quests and be lead on your way to lvl cap. Then you have Cyrodiil which is pretty much going to be a big RvR/PvP sandbox.
