Poisons that poison...

Post » Fri May 18, 2012 2:18 pm

Okay, I know there are DoT poisons in the game, but they are rare in comparison to the single shot poisons.
I also know that you can get the perk to make your poisons last "twice as long" or 2 hits instead of one.

But, we need a DoT overhaul. It is bad enough that I can pause the game and chug X amount of potions, put a poison on my weapon, eat more food than you could fit into a black hole, change weapons, etc all in an instant.
So I don't need another reason to have to put a poison on my weapon after every single attack.
We need DoT poisons. Evey type should be DoT.

Also, where are the elemental varieties? Frostbite poison is the only elemental one, and it is only good for like the first 5 levels.
Anyone working on this yet?

I agree 100%

The title confused me though, I came in here expecting to see xzibit saying something like "yo dawg, I herd you like poisons, so I put a poison in your poison so you can poison while you poison"

I'm sorry, what? Is there an underlying message that I'm not getting?

I specifically mentioned in my OP that I'm aware of DoT poisons. I want a replacement for the non-DoT poisons.

But DoT poisons would only solve the problem of having / being able to poison your weapon every strike if they don't stack. Is that confirmed? I know that reverse-pickpocketed DoT poisons do stack - might be different if applied from a weapon.

So you want to turn all Damage Health ingredients into Lingering Damage Ingredients because the mushrooms grow only in every other cave?

Or do you want to replace the existing Damage Health poisons with Lingering Damage?

Of course the vanilla poisons can be replaced, but I guess you won't be happy with balanced DoT versions.

Still, we have no CK yet, and ingredients and potions would be a pain with TESsnip, so for the time being, If you don't want to use alchemy, better forget about poisons and go for enchantments.

Personally, I prefer Damage Health + Slow or Ravage Health.

Deathbell + River Betty
Deathbell + Skeever Tail + Giant Lichen

DoT poisons DO stack. Tested this a couple of nights ago.

Personally I'd like to see all of the "Damage" poison effects converted to either Lingering or Ravage. And by "would like to see," I mean "have already identified the process in TESsnip, and just need to get around to it."

Would be nice to have some elemental damage effects (DoT or instant) added to the ingredients. There are a lot of useless effects (reduced regen poisons?!, more than a dozen fortify skill effects) cluttering up the alchemy list, but only three damaging poison effects.
