Last handheld I had was the little flippy square gameboy so my pokemon fun ended with ruby and I have no need for an other handheld device to carry around so an iOS port would be a great thing to have.
It's good for you and the few others like you, but for Nintendo, releasing games on a smartphone means nothing but losses. Upfront losses due to switching to the phone's programming language (all their current programmers would have to learn the new tools and cruft), per-sale losses due to the app store cut being taken out (generally around 30%), peripheral losses due to no longer being able to sell peripherals in the same manner, and third-party losses as now third-party game developers no longer pay them. Nintendo has a very strong mobile gaming base, and to throw that away, at least into the foreseeable future, would be to throw away huge profits. It's purely a logical business decision to keep their games off smartphones

So.... Pokemon black/white 2 was announced. I started playing the first one and it was fun but I don't own a DS (yet) so I didn't get to play much.
I lost interest in B/W due to c-gear hogging the bottom screen that I only used once (when in line at Anime Expo waiting to pick up my badge... there were like 50 people in range playing B/W

). Hopefully B2/W2 brings back the menu being the default on the bottom screen. The interface in HG/SS was just the best because I always had access to the menu and using the PC was a breeze due to just dragging and dropping, but B/W killed all that awesomeness off
