Ponyhammer Space Marines DLC

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 1:57 pm

THQ could not have been more ambiguous about this.

Anyone know what the DLCs add exactly?

THQ seems to be saying that the maps from Chaos Unleashed can be played as a regular game (with standard space marines), but you still have to have the DLC to play in a match featuring the new maps?

Same thing for the Dreadnought maps. But this time it seems like the other game modes don't benefit from the DLC?

And the powersword, golden relic bolter, golden relic chainsword, plus all of the other packs. Which ones actually add content, and which are simply re-skins?

It's like in Call Of Duty of Halo, you can't connect to a game using a Map Pack you don't have.

The power sword is just a Chainsword reskin with unique sounds, and the relic items are just ancient, ornate version of the regular weapons, they are all functionally identical.

All th chapter packs are just reskins for our character.

This game really looks like a money-grabber, IMO, :(

I'd like if developers tried harded with videogames in the Warhammer universe (both 40k and fantasy)

I mean, DoWII has been pretty fun, but they could do SO much more...

Space Marine is actually quite fun, definitely worth getting.

What I was trying to find out is whether the new maps can be played in the generic modes or just the chaos/dreadnought modes.

Ah, then THQ was very misleading. They made it sound like that it was some kind of new weapon like the last stand gears in DOWII.

I don't know much about Dreadnought, by there's a game mode that's exactly like generic but incorporates maps from the stock and Chaos Unleashed mappacks.

Really!? Well, I might take your word for it and buy it, then, as I really enjoy the 40k universe
