Pop Song Writers Becoming Lazy?

So, with Rihanna's continued success of repeating the same word over and over in each song ("We found love in a hopeless place", "Cake cake cake cake"), I did a little research and came up with this video:

So, is it lyrically acceptable and responsible to sing the same lines over and over? Not every song will be a lyrical masterpiece, but when the billboard top 4 songs (ran out of characters in the anolyzer) contain an average of 21% different words, what's that saying about popular music right now?

There's an odd shift where indie rock is taking hold (Fun, Gotye) and, perhaps, we'll see a shift to more varied writing than repeating the same line ("I'm faded, faded, faded, faded, faded, faded...").

I daresay it's the audience that's becoming lazy and the writers are simply using that to their advantage.

"It's stupid and mindless and morally extremely questionable, but at least I can dance."

pop songs have always been lazy, their whole point is that they can be appreciated by those who don't think too much about music.

It seems most pop has a bouncy rhythm that seems to be custom made to appeal to infants.
