As nice as this would be, I think it's expecting a lot. I'm honestly very surprised they released an HD texture pack for the base game, and, given the quality of so many user-made texture packs, I'm not overly impressed with it. Really, unless you are simply intent on playing a strictly vanilla/official verison of Skyrim and its DLC, I don't see why an HD texture pack would even matter.
I added the HD texture pack for the first time when I reinstalled the game about a month ago; it did improve the visual appeal of the game in a number of areas. But by the time I finished adding mods like HD2k, SeriousHD, SRO, and SMIM... there was nothing left of Bethesda's "improvements".
