[REQ] Possibility of more full beard options?

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 7:53 am

Okay, I can't be the only one getting sick of choosing between "Rough Beard" and "Survivalist" for a full beard.

Can some enterprising modder create some new beards? Maybe a whispy, clean-cut version of Survivalist? A flowing elderly man beard? Hell, why not go the extra mile and try to make ZZ Top-sized beards?

Someone has to be up to the task. I'm counting on you!

Making hair and beard models is a huge amount of work, but looking at all the hair mods we already have, I'll second this. I'd really like to see a beard that kind of meets the rough beard and survivalist halfway. A goatee based on the rough beard would also be cool.

Oh I know, I'm certainly not trying to downplay how difficult it must be. I've done a fair amount of modding myself, and I could never get a proper handle on 3D modeling.

But that's my line of thinking exactly. We have a ton of hair mods already which are all very nice. But beards are being sadly neglected. I mean, there are a ton of default options to choose from already, but it's disappointing that we're stuck with only two full beards.

My thoughts are: You can never have enough beards.

Beards are a lot of times the defining facial feature of a character. So the more options the merrier!

I'm pretty sure there's some beard modders' resources for Oblivion or Fallout 3 including the kinds of beards you're talking about, so that's one part of the work done.

Agreed - all of the options that are there are great, but so very lacking in full beard options. Especially with so many different criteria to choose from -- neatly trimmed or not, how far up the cheek it goes, long off the jaw as well as long off the chin (or longer at one spot than the other)...
