Possibility of why Beth isn't giving as much details on DB a

One of the complaints I heard early after the XBox release of DG was, "We didn't get what we were promised!", eg. fleshed out Fort DG upgrading system, the cave in the DG fort, ect.

They won't have this complaint if they don't promise much.

More like that they're tired of people jumping to assumptions based off of vague information, and then them getting mad and yelling "but Beth promised us!"

Honestly, I don't feel as if we need much of a sneak peek anyway, even giving us a trailer was only neccessary to increase knowledge about Dragonborn to those who were unaware of its looming release.

As long as the expansion delivers us onto a Solstheim that was just as nostalgic as the isle we visited in Bloodmoon, there will be no complaints from me. I trust Bethesda will not dissapoint.

Well Bethesda does have a habit of promising features and then not delivering. I remember when I got to Fort Dawnguard and was like wow this looks sick. Get inside, small, no fort shaped interior and then just disappointment I remember them promising upgrades but that didn't ruin my experience but none the less I was disappointed with Fort Dawnguard.

Although I think that maybe they are learning from Dishonored. At a certain point I just refused to watch anymore Dishonored previews because I was beginning to feel like there would be nothing of a surprise left when I finally purchased the game. I appreciate being given realistic expectations but let me have some surprise left.

Lack of info means it adds suspense, which in turn $ due to the holidays.

eh yeah, when fans could dig out facts about Dawnguard from pre release patches, I think they learned a bit to play close to there chest.

Leaves less room for disappointment when you don't speculate about stupid [censored].

Also, surprises are fun and going back to an old landmass is unprecedented in TES.. so the mysteriousness of what's up with Morrowind and Solstheim should be kept a surprise.
