Is it possible to change default save location?

Post » Fri May 18, 2012 7:17 pm

First off, I love the game and I'm having a blast with it. My only problem is there's no cloud saving and I'm playing on two computers. I thought an easy way to fix this would be to just save to my dropBox (I have plenty of space) but I haven't seen a way to change my default save location.

Does anyone know of a way to change the default save location?

You might want to look into using symlink. If you're unclear on how that works, a google search for "dropbox symlink" will point you in the right direction.

Open the game, type saveini in the console, quit and then open your Skyrim.ini in your Documents\My Games\Skyrim and change this line sLocalSavePath= to where your dropbox location is.

Thanks for both tips!

I actually just opened the game to try allas' comment but I actually got a Steam Cloud warning saying it could'nt sync my game. Does that mean the game does now support the Steam cloud?
